Once you click on sim city 4 icon, press the windows icon on you keyboard then click on your task manager, go to processes, then right click sim city 4 and click set affinity, now turn off cpu 1 and leave cpu 0 on. This works for me never had a crash once!

To Knapp14 if the huge building you are talking about is the one downtown, than that is a highrise low wealth apartment building, unfortunantly land is scarse so the only way for to expand is to expand upward. If you were talking about the one in the west side of the city on the corner of the avenue intersection, than that is a hospital it is governemt run so it sticks out as a much cleaner building than the surrounding area. If those arent the buildings you were talking about then please tell me which one, i would be glad to explain its prensence in that location.

I agree, as a Canadian i am great full to have such a fair health care system. The anti- Canadian health care ads down in the states are ridiculous! The problem with our system isn't the system itself but the lack of doctors. Many doctors will go south due to the very fact that you could be making a lot more. Its sickening to see people who only want to help because they get paid a hefty salary! not saying their aren't any good doctors in the United States, i respect American doctors.

I had the same problem, it was fixed very easily. You can try setting your affinity to one CPU. -go to task manager -click on processes -right click on Sim City 4 -click set affinity... -deselect one of the CPUs(there should be CPU0 and CPU1) Hopefully this works for you!
