I did the same on these. (same town once again)

For me they have a transparent base texture actually. Just some bushes on there that might make it look like there's a base, but there isn't.

1.  You can roll back your region folder if you have Windows 7 or 8 (Right click -> Properties -> Previous Versions)

2.  Upload pictures to an image hosting site (Photobucket, Imgur, Imageshack) and use the "Insert Picture" button in the post editor.

The quaint town of Peyton Place - Stepford Island is back!  This is the Peyton - Stepford bridge linking the mainland to the island (Stepford).

I love the small towns. I try to make a nice small town when i start a new city but it turns into more of an ugly little spot in my region, so i end up destroying it or i turn it into a big city rather then making it into a quaint little farm town.

I hear you. What i do is build  quaint small towns in various locations, with each having its own main street, branching into its first communities with countrys!des to 'n mans land' until i reach anofher spot to settle a town.  Then years later do some rebuilding.   Eventually having one town contolling utilities etc.    

 

Some of them may start out ugly but thats the neat part when preserving the uglies and you'll find pockets of 'nice' lots you want to keep. for example saving an old house in the middle of a bustling new downtown as a historic landmark turned "museum" or something.  Its YOUR creation, your city unique to how it built itself.  Don't destroy! keep and make it work !      

 

Look at some of my old CJS and see how it grew.

Some pictures of Mondsee, a village of mine, located in the mountains next to a lake. Still a WIP, though, and I admit that I'm no resourceful MMP master. I hope you like them, though. This time no seasonal changing trees - Mondsee sits at a high altitude, only conifer trees can grow here.

1. Mondsee is connected via railway with a larger city in the same city tile (population in total: approx. 112,000). The old watermill still attracts some visitors, along with the hiking paths, so the old train station is still in use.

 

 

 

 

2. The center of Mondsee. I'm already thinking of replacing thouse skyscrapers since they are entirely out of place for such a small village. I'll also place a statue soon at the small pond in the north.

 

 

 

3. Mondsee's main attraction: The Temple of Moonlight, located on an island in the lake, still attracting many visitors from all over my region. (Fortunately, the temple can be reached within a travel time of 30 min via railway from the adjacent city's airport, so the temple isn't really located in the middle of nowhere.) I must admit that I should place some flowers, tree stumps and other MMP items on the island. It has recently been revamped, so there are only trees there. The visitors can buy souvenirs and food at the shops next to the railway station and turn in at the hotel. I should mention that in the entire village car driving is not allowed. The mayor has achieved this goal by placing car traffic blockers at various crucial locations all around the village. His main motivation was to keep the village calm and tranquil, and to avoid pollution.

 

 

 

4. Finally, a picture of the lakeside east to Mondsee. It's not really gorgeous, I just wanted to show what I'm planning to do with it: There are some bikeways, and I'm planning to place some bonfires along the shore, since broiling bacon and vegetables over a bonfire is among the more beautiful and relaxing activities in summer I know.
