Thanks for the comments and views everyone!

    revelstokelogodl7.jpg

politicman: Thanks for the comments, I just try to make this CJ the most appealing to the community on here.

hawkeye9: Thanks for the comments, detail is key when it comes to making a realistic city.  Like I have said before I have been striving to create a realistic city with a lot of detail.  Thanks for noticing.

sedimenjerry: Thanks for the comments.  I'm glad you like this last update.

dfnva: Thanks for the comments.  The STEX has a lot of custom houses to download that look excellent in suburban areas.  The default maxis houses can be quite boring.  The Pemberton Festival was amazing; the Flaming Lips had the best entrance.

boisemetro: Thanks for the comments, and I have been known to be a lurker too.  I hope you like my next update.

jutrock: Thanks for the comments, I'm glad to know I have at least one official fan.

haljackey: Thanks for the comments, and the box stores and sport complexes are essential to any thriving community.  I had once used the rain tool but the ploppable water has never let me down.

hunkske: Thanks for the comments, and in many cities, the "newer" suburbs are not griddy.  The festival was excellent!

    sc4portugal: Thanks for the comment.

Shadow_Assassin: Thanks for the comments, and a lot I have put into this CJ I have learned from your amazing work on your cities.  I like how you have been the one to notice that my city has no visible ending line and again thats another realism effect I have utilized.  Speed cameras are always good to make a good buck or two to add into the city budget.  Maybe the money from the speeding tickets will be used to re-build the freeway? A little ironic I think.  I hope to read another comment from you again.

    dezjn: Thanks for the comment.

oceanmariner: Thanks for the comments, and the twin lakes area won't be the only suburb of it's kind.  Keep a look out!  The suburban retail has been another realism touch too.

gil363: Thanks for the comments, the "street-side" mod is available on the STEX.  If you have any problems finding it I will be happy to find it for you.  I just visited Revelstoke on my way to Pemberton.  I think my version is a little more contemporary.

ky72x: Thanks for the comments, and I', glad you have noticed the custom entrances.  I tried to see who would actually point that out.  Thanks I really appreciate it.  I hope to read another comment from you!

As for everyone else, I just got back from Vancouver, British Columbia.  I will try to have an update up as soon as possible.  Until then let's hear some 'more' comments...thanks again.

That's cool, glad you liked the Flaming Lips. I've got several of their cd's and find their music enjoyable.

It gets better every update! I love it! I also love the festival poster you posted awhile back! You have a wonderful talent at photoshopping. It's purely amazing! I also love the realness of your city. And the region view is wonderful too. I'll be keeping a eye on this CJ and so far you have done very well for yourself. Keep up the good work!

WOW that looks awesome man. The little details are really what bring it to life. HAHA love the starting "Too many roads, not enough cars" Great stuff. Region pics looks absolutely wonderful. Can't wait to see some further development toward the river and across.

    Best Regards,

    Marshall

    Thanks for the comments everyone.

    I'll do some replies now...

dfnva: Thanks for the comments...you can see the Pemberton Flaming Lips performance on You Tube.

Ntq$310: Thanks for the comments.  For my streets I use jerog's street mod; available on the STEX

anarchy0029: Thanks for the comments, and I understand we all have lives outside of Sim City.  I really appreciate that this is one of the nicest CJ's you have seen.  It means a lot; really.

connorc24: Thanks for the comments, and it takes awhile to be good at photoshop.  However CS3 is amazing.  Really flexible and professional.  Thanks so much... any comment toward realism is much appreciated.

MTLT_17: Thanks for the comments, and the little things always do matter the most don't they?  I'm guessing you've seen a Sim City 4 add recently? Haha, I just had to add that in there.  Your right... across the river is going to be URev (University of Revelstoke).

CarmineHilton: Thanks for the comments.  The cemetary is not finished however...there is still some more work to be done with trees and so on.  Suburbs cant really look different.  Take Calgary for example.  Many are cookie-cutter houses.  However; I will try to diversify areas from another.  One thing you cant really tell now (without a transportation map) is that I am making the older suburbs on a grid and the newer ones not.  If you keep watching you'll see.

As for everyone else, thanks for viewing Revelstoke.  Again please comment.

    Cheers.

    Another excellent update, as always!

Nice work with the graveyard! Its rare to see a custom one in SC4, most (including me), still use the standard 5x5 Maxis ones. 3.gif

And that subdivision is looking good too! Its a great addition to Revelstoke!

I cannot wait to see some more!

    Best,

    -Haljackey

Alright this isn't update 8.  However, just a photo of Acadia.  Thanks for the comments everyone.  Here are some replies...

anarchy0029: Thanks for the comments, I hope you enjoy this photo.

sedimenjerry: Thanks for the comments.  The festival was literally amazing.  Over 40,000 people were there.  I also went to visit Vancouver for a couple days after.  What I can tell you is that Pemberton made a lot of money from this though.  If you look back to when I posted the line-up it took place in that exact place.  So it was excellent.

haljackey: Thanks for the comments, I hope you like the graveyard once it's completed.  I still have to download some more pieces off the STEX haha. Heres a picture I'm sure you'll enjoy.

Nice cemetary and suburban residential areas. I also like the commerical area on Redcoat Trail with all the big stores. My only suggestion would be to make the parking lots bigger (adding some parking lot props).

I like how sprawly that cemetery is, that's exactly how it should look. The access road entrance is very nice, as well. I have to agree with Dan about adding parking lots next to those big-box stores along the Redcoat Trail. Best Buy and especially Nordstrom need much more of it. You've sure got the parking right with the stadium, though. I also liked the lights on the avenue.

Thanks for the comments everyone!   Here is the biggest update yet.   But first replies to your comments.

Hawkeye9: Thanks for the comments, and I'm sure this is the best update so far.

MTLT_17: Thanks for the comments again.  I'm glad you like the cemetery and the school.  Enjoy this update as I know you've had a preview.

dfnva: Thanks for the comments.  I'm glad you like my suburban areas and I especially like how you have noticed the flaw on Red Coat Trail.  I have added additional parking (maybe you can see on the region view) but I won't show it for awhile.

ky72x: Thanks for the comments and I'm finally glad someone else thinks cemeteries shouldn't be the standard maxis ones.  The south entrance will be a lot more accessible and as I said with dfnva the parking issue has been resolved.   I only had to demolish a few businesses but it did improve my transportation network.

Get ready for Update 8 everyone.

Wow awesome update. I really like the downtown area of Revelstoke which appears vibrant with shopping and fun things to do. I also like the pics of the Sunalta area which is very realistic with respect to how you arranged the neighborhood, the shopping on the main road, and the crossing with the freeway. The peg pond also looks great in that setting.

As for the parking comment I made, I would definitely not call it a flaw, and on a second look at that area, it appears pretty dense anyhow, so the expansive parking found in suburban areas may not be proper to do there.

Anyhow, keep up the great work,

    Dan

Yeah, this continues to be an impressive city journal. You have done a fantastic job making this as realistic as possible. I'm envious of your skills, but not quite to the point of hate2.gif It's very interesting to see your region fill in!

Well done! Easy on the eye and quite realistic looking. More suburbs need to look like this.

Awesome update. I like how well you mix the standard maxis buildings in with custom content. It looks great!

Your highway has so much more potential if you upgrade it to a RHW. If you have any questions about how to use the network, send me a PM because I would really like to see a RHW in Revelstoke!

    Best,

    sc4portugal: Thanks for the comments.

sedimenjerry: Thanks for the comments and as I said before I am still waiting to put in the RHW, so be patient.

    kelistmac: Thanks for the comments.

jacqulina: Thanks for the comments; I'm glad you enjoyed the last update.

dfnva: Thanks for the comments.  The downtown area is one which I am highly proud of.  Just like any major city all downtowns are vibrant (...well most...?)  I'm also glad to hear you liked the layout and planningof Sunalta.  Once you see the transportation map of it you will be amazed.

NMUSpidey: Thanks for the comments and I'm sure anyone can create a realistic city after some practice.

Schulmanator: Thanks for the comments.  I'm glad you like the photo shopped pictures.  The last 2 took quite some time to make them look as real as possible.  And I agree with you on the suburbs comment.

jutrock: Thanks for the comments and I can now say the downtown is my favourite part of Revelstoke...at least for now.

haljackey:  Thanks for the comments.  We talked about the RHW in a PM.

GreekMan: Thanks for the comments, and I'm glad you think this CJ is that good.  I like to give the readers an idea of what to expect next in the proposed expansion pictures.

MTLT_17: Thanks for the comments and even though the city may look like it's expanding fast it has a lot more work to go.

As for everyone else thanks for viewing Revelstoke and I'll have update 9 here in the next day or two.  Keep posting.

    Cheers.
