The city is looking SO realistic from that region view, really such a good job on all of it. The ads look pretty nice as well, and I must say your SimCity skills are vastly improving. 9.gif

Very nice indeed. I can't wait to see what the park is going to look like. Your CJ almost looks like its a commercial for a vacation get-away.

I like.

I've missed some good updates. I like the suburban areas you've been developing. Keep up the good work.

Great work there mate. You can clearly see from your regional view how the commerical development lines the primary routes - very true of many cities. I like the European feel in the suburbs too. 4.gif

Superb! As always, your night views are spectacular. That's not to say that the daytime pictures are any less good! I especially like the night views of your low density housing. You have a skill for graphics too. Your ads and newspaper look great.

A nice set of comments here.  Thanks everyone.

GreekMan:  Thanks for the comment.  Although light rail systems are highly valued in most cities as an excellent source of transportation Revelstoke is only around the 200,000 mark.  When it gets above 500,000 then I will think of adding that system.  I have been leaving some room in parts to expand avenues.  By the way I hope to see my CJ in your favorites.  Thanks!  No I do not have any mod for trees atm.

CarmineHilton:  Thanks for the comment as always!  The newspaper took awhile to create and I will have an issue next update.  The only reason we haven't seen eachother on MSN yet is because we are on completely different time zones.  I'll talk to you soon though.

haljackey:  Thanks for the comment and I've noticed that with some people, they just don't like newspapers.  The ads were taken in my hometown Regina with an SLR camera.  (Nikon D60)

sedimenjerry:  Thanks for the comment haha, I'm glad you like the newspaper.

Amerikaner:  Thanks for the comment.  Wait until Revelstoke is across the river and has developed some agriculture east of the city.  Then it will be realistic.  I am also putting some mountains west of the city on the other side of Old Man River.   Btw, I'm glad you think I am improving haha.

xV.I.N.C.E.N.T.x:  Thanks for the comment.  I think it was your first here?  Haha a comercial for a get-away?  Is that supposed to be good or bad?  Are you talking about the RL photos or just the photos of Revelstoke in general?

    Ntq$310:  Thanks for your comment.

dfnva:  Yes, you have missed a couple updates but that's fine we all have other priorities.  Well heres a look at how to create one of my subdivisions.  I hope you like it.

Mike the Mayor:  I like the mate, seriously. Thanks for the comment and like any satellite view of any "major city" (in Canada at least) there are commercial strips along avenues.  I guess it just make sense instead of having big squares like the default ones.  As for the european feel well I'm glad I have some european houses.  They look awesome in Revelstoke.

psander5:  Thanks for the comments.  Too bad I don't have any night shots in here (you should still thoroughly enjoy it though).  I'm really glad I have some postive feedback on my graphic representations; thanks.

Shadow_Assassin:  Haha what a "random comment".  Still one of my favorites though, keep on replying 3.gif.

SirUnger:  Thanks for the comment; I'm glad you enjoyed the last update!

As for everyone else who has been lurking around here is UPDATE 14.

Awesome! If I could buy a house by the lake, I would!

Interesting choice on the UREV's placement. Glad to see ya expanding on the other side of that huge river.

    Best,

I see how it is... you go on hiatus for a month and then come back with a surge of updates. 3.gif

Nothing wrong with that, it just shows how quickly you're able to build up the city. I continue to appreciate how these updates are being presented. The development plans really mirror real-life ones quite a bit, and boy, do they look good! And like always, the overview shot and the end is perfect. 9.gif

I was referring to Revelstoke.  You make it look so easy and real. That Arbour Lake residential area was a lightbulb moment. Wow. Great inspiration!

    Don't worry, it's a compliment.  4.gif

Looks great... similar to what I do when I make residential subdivisions. It's painstaking sometimes to go through all the work of placing the zones exactly like that, what with the snaking roads and culdescacs through the subdivisions but worth it for the results. I do like the addition of the lake and like how you put trees. I hate a lot of newer real-life subdivisions where everything is clear-cut and barren with just McMansions standing alone in an ecologically devoid abyss.

Additionally, I like how your commercial areas look along the main boulevards (Sarcee Trail and Nosehill Drive). I'll bet the intersection of Sarcee and Nosehill will soon be a clogged intersection once all of your proposed development fills out the area.

    The subdivisions look great! 4.gif

Why not have most of your industrial areas around the airport? That'd look awesome, IMO. 3.gif

The city's growing, which is great.

Wow... I've finally returned to the Simtropolis community after a few years - and the first CJ I stumble over is this one. Incredible work, I must say. Fellow Canadian here - I'm from Calgary actually. I'm liking all the Canadian references, and love see things from Calgary (Deerfoot Trail, Arbour Lake, Citadel, and Scenic Acres Boulevard... I live in Scenic Acres, right off the blvd!). Have you been here or did you just check out the names of areas?

Keep up the awesome work. I have definitely found something that will keep me involved in the community for a while again 4.gif

I don't comment much on CJs anymore, but I must say that I was blown away when I saw this! That region view is astounding. The suburbs are well planned, the commercial zones are appropriately placed, and the industry is tucked well in the corner (just like most real cities try and do, lol). Keep up this fantastic work! 9.gif
