East Wirdleonia: The Big House

Tanagiers is the new capital of the East Wirdleonia district. The capitol building is an imposing Temple Revival structure made of gray stone. It gained the nickname "The Big House" since it is the largest structure in the city and does have a shape reminiscent of a house.

With the Goldfinch of Prosperity in front of the Capitol, one expects to have low taxes.

The Big House is next to Market Square Mall.

Being the first city in the district and the center of government for the region, Tanagiers has bustling commerce all over town. The eastern side of town, the side facing the river, is where commerce is concentrated. Along Market Street and River Road, many businesses are making plenty of schulmonetas.

River Road connects Tanagiers to Robinia and the nation at large. As such, it is the busiest thoroughfare in town.

Let's take a stroll through Market Square, where many local businesses thrive.

The Bureau of Feline Affairs has an office in Market Square Mall. Next door to it is the small shop Tienda de Hestorbia.

The arcaded Cardinal Corners hosts the East Wirdleonia headquarters for VAN Enterprises as well as Phat's ListWorks and Craig's Nursing Supplies.

The bustling town has a variety of neighborhoods. The locals support homegrown businesses and are quite entrepreneurial, themselves. Let's check out more of the town.

Looking north, businesses and homes spread upwards from River Road.

It's a pleasant stroll through Scuppernong Square, a delightful neighborhood on the west side of town.

The striking yellow façade of Butterpaw Apartments is across the street from the equally yellow Yellow Chin Apartments.

Boothby the florist does a great job with the grounds of Cathead Court.

Smaller homes in Salons at Sylvester Point are just as desirable as the larger ones.

For many homes, the wilderness is just outside their front door.

The Tanager's Nest is the only five star lodging facility in town. Its octagonal form allows for sweeping vistas from every room.

Now, we board the ferry to head back to Robinia, currently the only other town along the Wirdleonia River.
