Thalassicus, that is some great paint skills and that would be great to see in the game.

I was wondering if the under road/avenue/oneway/street textures for the overpasses and puzzle pieces can be changed so there is middle wealth footpath tiles under it and also, the dirt for the railway. This would give the networks a much better look.

Great work still.

Remeber, don't just design it for elevated highways, we'd like to see a ground highway Y-interchange as well (in fact, I would like to see that more than an el one).

wow i just realized that this is stacked. That could save space and would probablly look really kewl in the game. However it does unstack at the ends. so the space savings would be minimal. But hopefully we will have stacked highways in the near future. So maybe you could redo this as a true stacked interchange.

How is it not a true stacked interchange? 41.gif

It actually looks very cool, with the double-decker triangular merge lanes. Never seen one of those, since in the US you usually have perpendicular highway systems 1.gif

Problem is, it doesn't work. The directions don't match up properly. How would traffic flow through that?

If you always take the same road, you will never see anything new.

a true stack interchange wouldnt fold out ie no longer be stacked. Hopefully once the the dun stuff starts coming out there will be a need for new interchanges.

Tropod; I was wondering how the status is on (the Marrast) underpasses. I just had a look at the STEX and there is a BAT by NDEX. Apparently there is a solution for displaying vehicles below the surface.

Is anyone working on this to make underpasses possible now?

It would already be great to have the existing (Marrast) underpasses fully functional.

and whats with the directions?/idealbb/files/Dreieck32.JPG

I suggest you take two minutes to think about it... if you still can't find anything wrong about it you might want to make a drwaing on paper and draw some cars going in their respective directions... you should expect many accidents!

Haha

...but since I'm so eager to show you, here is the problem:

Dreieck32problematic.JPG

Will that do it for an explanation? =)

And no the problem remains the same if you are driving on the left side of the road/avenue/highway/etc, hehe

i must say, this y interchange would be pretty useless in a real city. Don't become an engineer PLEASE ! lol

I have no graphic skills but here goes...

The only way for this to work is if the point at A2 lowered to 1, and the point at A1 raised to 2
but I think this kind of transition would be hard to code.

Personally I think we need more variations of the stack (maybe one like the California 110/US 101 interchange, maybe one like the future I-95/I-276/I-295 (it's really only two separate roads, 295 and MAYBE 276 end), rather than a lot of 3 direction interchanges.

Hmm....do you mean the East Los Angeles Interchange? I've been through it, at pretty much any time of the day it's traffic hell! But actually, it's 4 freeways, the 101, 60, 10, and 5. The 110 is on the other side of Downtown Los Angeles. And once it goes past I-10, it becauses State Route 110, a no-truck twisty route that leads you into Pasadena. But anyways, the East LA Interchange is horrible, they combine 4 freeways into about 6 lanes in each direction. Thankfully they have bus and rail service around it as an alternative.

Looks... Interesting. It doesn't look very realistic, the Y interchange that is already being made looks much better. A Y interchange shouldn't be this complicated.

This may have been asked before but...

Can you transit enable Marrast's roadloop?

Can you make 2 lane, 4 lane, 5+ lane highways? 3 lane avenues? Or is it impossible

Would it be possible to make a different, slightly retextured Pedestrian Mall, make it car-enabled, and have real commercial parking lots? 41.gif

I could do the necessary textures; the one's in the game aren't really like the big strip-mall parking lot style, more like those you see in front of offices. We could also make realistic malls and such using this method.
