Hi,

I was wondering what installer program was used to create the PC Version of NAM? I found it very useful for multiple-option installing.

I used the Nullsoft Installer System (NSIS) for the NAM installer - just do a Google search, and you should find the NSIS website. But it requires some knowledge in scripting, therefore, you should also install a script editor, such as HM NIS Edit. If you want, I can send you a demo script that I have done for the BSC. Just PM me or write me an e-mail (andreas@simszone.de).

The canal puzzle pieces will be ready next week. I have just to add your button and the T-intersection (I have to do too much for my study at the moment). It should become an optional plugin distributed with the NAM. At the moment, it is useless for other ones than developers because no boat terminal LOT has been finished yet.

@thatmonkeysim: I think there will be some new on-slope puzzle pieces in the next NAM version, but I don't know which ones. "Possible" is everything, if there's someone who tries it, and only if he doesn't fail, of course. 2.gif

@irishgrapes: Just make sure that the roundabout plugins are selected when you install the NAM. In the game, do this to get 2x2 roundabouts for streets and roads (1st picture) and larger 3x3 roundabouts for roads and oneway roads (2nd picture; these pictures will be included in the next version of the NAM readme, so hopefully, this is the last time somebody asks how to do them 49.gif 2.gif :

A question that I'm not if it has been answered or not but i cant find it:

What happens when you connect pieces of different networks together?

I wanted my rail line run above a street for a sort distance and so the only way to do it was to use EL pieces. I didn't think it would work but i tried any way and it seemed to be ok. The trains (automata) would keep driving straight over the EL and back onto normal rail with no trouble. I thought success but afterwards my pathfinding showed no train passengers were going this way anymore. Instead they were taking a detour around it. I tried experimenting to determine if they had found a better route or what but its a bit inconclusive at the moment.

Does this mean that mixing pieces like this looks fine but doesnt actually work with the pathfinding? I would have assumed this in the beginning but was surprised to see the trains travelling over the EL rails. Thanx for your help people. The NAM is a huge improvement over the regular Rush Hour.

im Not too if this has been requested before, but is it possible to have asphalt in the el highway/monorail intersection with the current NAM?

I put the ZZZ infront of the asphalt textures so the NAM interchanges work, but this one is still concrete like the bridges

Oh, sorry, guess it helps to let ya know.  All i have is the NAM, the euro highway textures mod (not eurotext), some additional vehicle and u drive it mods, orth-highway mod, asphalt highway textures, traffic fix- perfect, transit supp 121, and thats it.

Heres a picture to show the problem that I have

Where the monorail crosses the elevated highway, there is no asphalt texture, so it re-routes back to the base concrete texture.

Any advice about how to change this to the asphalt texture would be helpful.  Thanks!

Please upload the picture as it now just links to your hard-drive(my documents on your computer), and reduce size to 800 x 600.

I removed the pics that were linked to your HD and the MSN storage. Please use ImageShack or something similar to upload them. I also suggest to consult the NAM readme file, you have to remove old traffic mods, such as the traffic fix - perfect pathfinding and the transit supplement file. These are outdated and will conflict with the NAM.

Dr. Neitchskrimfrauwnmoya:

If you wish to keep the T, then this is easily solved by going down from the t section.

I had a similar error and solved it this way.

I have a question regarding the next NAM:

If I remember correct, there are Ground Highway-Puzzle-Pieces planned. If this is correct, is there somewhere a Picture-Gallery of what we can expect?

mijg_dudy: Are you using the Rural Highway Mod? If you are, that will happen. To solve it, make sure your Euro Road Mod loads AFTER the NAM.

Is there any possiblity for making the GLR in the NAM click-n-drag instead of just ploppable? Thanks!

IMPORTANT: GREAT IDEA

1.how about a cloverleaf, that also can connect to nearby roads, streets or avenues, but connects directly to the highway, like in Atlanta. This would save space.

2.next how about a boulevard? an avenue with no median (or a small one) with 3 lanes on each side.

3.Draggable GLR

4.2 to 10 lane highways like in real life

5. Highways, "pre-sunken" in box format, but with intersections over the highway, but these intersections are not connected

6. Onramps for sunken highways, that combine puzzle pieces with onramps.

Thanks, please consider, though i doubt anyone will.

I've installed the NAM and it almost works fine but each time i try to make my Sims use bus, EL, metro.... instead of their cars, the time they need to go to work increase badly for each new network i settle

I read in Simtropia about a mod for the ANT network wich makes it look like ordinary streets. Does anyone know where this is located? I would be thankfull as it would make the use of dirt streets or similar easier!

The mod can be found here. However, you have to keep in mind that you will see grey street textures, even if you have the dirt textures installed. You have to change the IDs manually to the ID range of the ANT. And of course all limitations of the ANT (such as no development taking place along all ANT stretches) apply as well.

I thought that the NAM had roundabouts? I downloaded NAM when ST 4.0 was on , but then my computer deleted it ( or was it me? ). So now I downloaded it again from the modds and downloads page but know I cant make roundabouts or diaginal streets. Did I do something wrong?
