Yes.

I agree with TMS, this is going to be great! Will those intersections be made compadible with the fantastic euro road and highway textures?

Thanks for doing this everyone!

ArkenbergeJoe:

Great work, I was really looking forward to this type of interchange in Sim City Klasse Arbeit, diese Ein- und Ausfahrten moechte ich ja schon immer sehen in Sim City

Are you also planning a version that is merging into an avenue instead of a road?

@jerommeke1701: Actually, you can use that type of onramp for every kind of road - just use the normal road tool to interconnect it with your current road layout. For connecting an avenue directly to a highway, I'd suggest the highway T interchange, like in this picture in the lower left corner: http://home.arcor.de/simcityportrait/plauen/plauen_07.jpg

Hey shadow. All you need to do is create a street in one tile and do the same in a tile diagonally from it then connect it. Keep doing this and you will and should have a diagonal streets in your cities. Hopefully this helps you out.

Just wondering if it was possible to create a GLR / road intersection with a elevated rail over it? Is anyone working on such an item?

I've just finished a translation of all NAM-Tooltips from english to german, mainly for my own happyness cause I don't like it anymore to see german and english all mixed up.

If you NAM-makers are interested, just pm me

What NAM tooltips are you talking of? The description bubbles in the menus? Don't you know that I did that already, along with a complete translation of the readme file? Just go to SimsZone.de and download a German version of the NAM, with German language plugin, German installer and German readme file. 2.gif

I think it would be a good idea for localisation's sake to put all strings either into one big file or into a bunch of little files in another folder to make localising the NAM much easier. One would be able to download a NAM language pack, delete the old, and drop in the new with no trouble.

Hypothetical directory structure:

.../NAM YYYY-MM-DD/lang/en.dat

- or -

.../NAM YYYY-MM-DD/lang/(paths/to/strings for the various plugins.dat)

First of all I have to say that you guys have done some great work with the NAM in the last yr or so. Especially with the puzzle peices, and its great to have some DUN. I have read through all the NAM threads and been playing agian first time in over a year was awesome to use some of the new stuff, just had to fig out the bugs and work arounds with the el over road.

Havent found anything in the threads that mentioned new textures for the rail over passes, unless thats what aaronperry was referring to, but i think that would be very cool cuz currently they look like elevated rail. Some with stone, brick, concrete would be awesome.

Also seems to be a puzzle peice missing for the el rail. I coudlnt cross RR, with it, I ended up using regular el to do it had to demo the road. But I got to use the ped mall peices so it didn't work out to bad. Of course this could be a known issue I could imagine crossing RR with a el rail and road could pose some issues.

Also with road overpasses I had fun doing an I intersection with overpasses one of them was a one way overpass and the other was a regular overpass. I was tabbing though the one puzzle peices and there was no I intersection for one way and road. However this intersection was in the regular overpass puzzle peices. Fortunately this was my last peice to place, I imagine my eyes got kinda big when I was 1 peice away from completing my puzzle.

Thanks for all your great work

Andreas, Arkenberg, Maybe I should have explained / asked better: I was thinking more along these lines (see attachment) (and sorry for the unoriginal file name)

@jerommeke1701

Gute Idee.

Here is the Screen...

This...

autobahnabfahrteuro7ve.jpg

Is similar to:

Parclo B2 Interchange (folded diamond)

This.  Its a parclo B-2 Interchange (Folded diamond).  Only thing is that the ramps would meet on the overpass and they would not continue as a road.  Still, it would be awsome if we could have this in the game18.gif

Haljacky, Goaskin:

I meant the 'parclo' to be just as it is.

Of course it doesn't have to continue into a avenue with a 4-way intersection, but I was taking the example of the A4-N14 interchange Near Leidschendam (near The Hague) In The Netherlands (see attachment, taken from Google Earth)

Of course it can end in T intersections, but if I understand correctly, with the way Arkenberg Joe is creating these Freeway connections, you can drag a road to it, meaning that a similar thing would be possible for Avenues, meaning you can do about anything you want.

A full cloaverleaf is not what I had in mind for this interchange, primarily since this particular example would be a 6 way intersection

I was curious as to what major upgrades the new NAM will be getting. Is it going to incorperate new highway interchanges, more puzzle pieces, etc. If this is posted somewhere else please link it. Thank you

Subedei

There is no complete list, since it depends on the actual state of development which items are going into the next version, but here's some stuff you can expect:

- the new interchange puzzle pieces ArkenbergeJoe showed here

- the new bridges smoncrie published in his "Double-decker bridge" thread

- rural highway (based on the ANT)

- various fixes and updates for existing puzzle pieces

- various dual-networking puzzle pieces (el-rail over road etc.)

- mountain trail puzzle pieces

- some new on-slope puzzle pieces

- high monorail/elevated rail (for crossing elevated highways etc.)

- files for plugins are now included in the appropriate plugin DATs rather than the main NAM DAT

- enhanced NAM installer/NAM readme file

Future NAM versions may include:

- draggable puzzle pieces (GLR, pedmalls,...)

- draggable dual-networking

- GLR in avenue

- canal puzzle pieces

Alright, thanks for the list of what to expect. I can't wait any loner for the highway ramps with the traffic lights at the end (start) of them. As it gives it a litte more realisim for the game. Just waiting patiently for the next edition to come out.
