I've installed the NAM (PC version) with all the plug ins. I created the one way round about (the one that is 3x3), but noticed that traffic is avoiding it. Only pedestrians are moving through it. I remember the original Rush Hour had the same bug for certain kinds of junctions, but fortunatly the patch resolved those issues.

I'm wondering if anyone else found this bug, or whether I'm missing something

Thanks

Make sure that the one-ways forming the rundabout all point in the same direction, otherwise it will not be traversable for cars (but since pedestrians aren't affected by the direction of one-ways, they would be ablel to use it just fine). This is likely to be problematic if you have the no-oneway-arrows mod (or whatever it's called).

You can verify functionality with UDI as well.

I feel kinda silly.

The reason my roundabout did not work, was because it was going in the wrong direction! When I made it go the other direction, it worked just fine.

In South Africa we drive on the left, so I'll have to watch it. I know there's a mod for traffic to drive on the left, but that's not such a big deal for me.

I was wondering something. I know that all the people working on the NAM have RL to worry about too, and that the next NAM update will be done when its done, but how far are they into it? I mean, 25%, 50%, 75% done with the stuff to be included? I am perfectly happy to wait patiently for it - you guys do great work and are real artists, but just wondering how its proceeding in general.

Hey there, cheers to everyone and the development of the NAM, I havnt been following the development though. Just a question (probably been ask and covered before) seeing as puzzle pieces can be created, and lots placed on water (whether this can be incorporated with puzzle pieces), would a puzzle piece 'BASIC' bridge be achievable possibly with bends. Like similar to the puzzle piece raised road but over water.

As I said seeing whats been produced to this point this probably has been thought of and dismissed?

Ok. I've been out of the SC4 loop for a while. So please fill me in...

Has some form of the Rural Highway made in into the latest NAM (10/05, right)? I saw some screen shots in the NAM development thread of exactly what I was wanting to do [that is run a rail line in the median of a divided highway] but I was not even thinking it was possible. I was assuming the RWH elements had not yet been added. I'm not where I can check now but I can't wait to know if I can now make real highways that don't have both directions joined together.

The rail in the middle was not done with RHW, as you would see by the textures. It was done by making a highway, erasing 1/2 of it by running the monorail over it, then making another next to it, and erasing the middle with monorail, as I understand it.

Interesting. I saw a couple threads regarding "multi-highways" but there was no actual tutorial that I could find; only talk about images that were not shown and links that do not work. Is there are usable guide to this. Did I miss something?

EDIT

P.S.: I found Lakeyboy's files on the STEX. Is that the one to use? That procedure might be useful in limited circumstances but it gets pretty goofy in the angles and turns. I guess we are all still waiting for the promise of RWH.

OriginalAndy: The height of puzzle pieces is not relativ to the water surface but to the river-bed:

so on my way home today i was driving down the freeway and though, gee wouldnt it be grand if we could have curvy highways, then for some reason i thought of some of the interchanges you guys are making and thought, hay i have an idea!

why cant we have curvy highway puzzel pieces? it could hook up just like a freeway interchange plop only it would have 2 conections and could be... as i understand it up to 16x16

let me know if this is even feasable.

if it is, who says it only has to be highways, could it be done with roads

...my two cents

I was wondering the same thing. This would be such a great addition. I love the loops on the "T" intersection, and thought it would be great to have them as seperate puzzles.

I have a question about a strange thing happening in my game.

Seems when I reinstalled SC4 my traffic seems to want to travel in a european style (opposite of the US).

I've removed all my plugins, and it still has the same traffic patterns.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

European style / US style ? 42.gif

What do you mean ? ... and what does this have to do with NAM ? Do you have this installed ?

The pathfinder needs some time to calculation the new paths for the trafic.

Yes, I have the latest NAM installed. Since this is a NETWORK issue, not a LOT issue. I would think this is a good place to cover this. If I am wrong, please point me to the appropriate thread.

Just because I don't post often, doesn't make me a novice to this site.

My traffic drives on the left side of the road opposite the (US) right side of the road. My prefferece would be the US right side of the road. Even after I let it run for a couple years game time.

I was wondering if anyone had come accross this problem before?

Thanks for your attention.

NiteSentry: I was not trying to apply that you were a novice, but I was just trying to get clearfied what you were saying and what precisly your problem is.

It's not a plug-ins problem and there by no Network Addon Modd (NAM) issue.

Well try to check out the thread: Solution to the left/right driving issue.

Issues solved. The the change in dirrection happened on a clean install of SC4, so I couldn't think of anything other then the network mods causing the issue.

I did however reintall SC4 again, and this fixed the issue.

Thanks for you help.

Hi everyone,

I have an issue with my GLR.

It's very strange .. in a town or in the middle of nowhere you can build the GLR tracks whatever you want, but if you want to build it in a city the whole game will crash inmidiatly. Who knows this problem and how can I resolve this? With the other tools of NAM I don't have this problem, even in a big city.

just a thought, do you have any transit enabled lots in the city(as bus-stops on roads and more) because if you do this is a known bug that crashes the game, however if you don't then i'm sorry but i can't help you.

Hi Erwin

This is a known problem that cann't be taken care of by the modders, but only by EA.

  1. Lay out the tracks and leave room for the station. Avoid to hover the puzzle piece over any transit enable buildings like the stations ect.
  2. Place the stations
  3. Drag EL-tracks through the station to make them work proper.
