How can I make elevated (heavy I guess) rail with those nice brick arches under? I have installed the jan 2008 NAM but where is it to find in the game??? Should it be in the rail menu or where? Did I miss something when I installed?

Okay, let me attempt to answer your question to the best of my knowledge.

First off, you stated that you installed the Jan 2008 NAM.  Thats good.  But, did you also install the June 2007 NAM?  It is a dependency for the Jan 2008 NAM  If you deleted the June 2007 NAM to prepare for the Jan 2008 NAM, just re-download it (in the mods and downloads section).  This could solve your problem!

If you have both the June 2007 and Jan 2008 NAMs, then you should have this.  It should appear in the rail menu and should be the first icon you see.  Just hit the TAB button to select the piece(s) you want to construct your overpasses.

Anyways, I hope this helped you out in some way, Odd from Sweden.  If not, can you let us know if you downloaded the June 2007 NAM?  That would help a lot.

...Or, could another member possibly explain this situation a little better?  My knowledge on this is a little vague, thanks!

Best,

-Haljackey

um, something in my game has gone horribly wrong since i installed the NAM update and SAM street mods.

whenever i open up a city, the roads immediately in and around intersections (note that this is only roads, not streets!) have all disappeared. when i go to lay them out again, it takes a good 30 seconds for the game to do it (load it up).

so needless to say its gotten to be a severe pain in the ass going through large cities, relaying intersections with each one taking several seconds to load.

when i go to lay fresh new road, not to connected to stuff thats disappeared, it works fine. no load time.

anyone else had this problem?

oh man its making it painfully hard to play sc4 at this point.

Looks like you're missing the Road Turning Lanes plugin, otherwise you won't miss the textures around your road intersections. Please make sure that you installed the files properly. If everything fails, uninstall the NAM and start over (NAM June 2007, then the January 2008 Update, the SAM, additional bridges, and the RHW, if desired).

Is there any way to limit the number of car that appear on the GLR? The trams don't look realistic with more than 2 or 3 cars.

Hello I would just like to thank the NAM team which is a fabulous "invention" and what improve a game like SimCity and what bring magical network in every way we can make roads, rails highway etc and in diagonal and with very beautiful curves which are "low brutal" for circulation.

Simcity has became a very great tool of art with the imagination of the modders like you.And thank you too just for that rich simtropolis site without what Simcity would be poor.Just I wanted to give you my congrats ponctually in my research, for all what you bring to ours sensitive and constructive minds permanently awake! So keep the goodness and follow the great job like you do so very well!!!

A few bugs in NAM...

While I think NAM is awsome and am constantly in awe of what you guys come out with, there's a few things I wanted to see if you guys have addressed...

The Oneway road overpass for Diagnol Oneway road is disfunctional. One tile will allow the underpassing Diagnol oneway road to travel one way, and the next tile causes that same underpassing Diagnol oneway road to travel the opposite way... I've tried several combinations to fix this but to no avail. I had to convert my underpassing oneway road into an Avenue to fix it... I'll post pictures of what I'm talking about if anyone needs further emphasis...

Did you mean you wanted to make something like this?

The image

If this is what you are aiming at making, it is possible, but is difficult.

-The best way to get the puzzle piece to "Fit" in its spot is to rotate it to its correct position on unzoned ground and then stick it where you want it to fit.  Its tricky, and sometimes it doesn't work.

-You can also rotate the puzzle piece on "built up" land (like a park) and try it that way.

-Lastly, with a lot of patience and luck, just keep trying to hover the puzzle piece over the intended area.  Eventually, it will just fit into place.

I hope this helped you.  If not, could you explain your situation in a little more detail?  Thanks!

Best,

-Haljackey

Welcome to Simtropolis Kalimushada

Uninstall everything that is NAM

Then download and install NAM June 2007 (modds and Downloads section)

Then download and install NAM Jan 2008 Update (STEX)

Then the RHW (STEX)

And it should work.

Hope it helps.

I know this has probably been covered elsewhere, but I'm getting overwhelmed trying to find it.

Is there a way to have transit-enabled pedestrian malls in NAM? I know they removed game effects because it was like a cheat, but I would still like to pedestrianize some areas of my city.

Cheers!

I understood the removal of game effects to mean that the pedestrian malls are no long transit-enabled (i.e., eye candy). So people can still walk on them?

The ped malls are puzzle pieces they always have been, The spawning of sims when sims werent using them was removed because it crashed peoples pcs and it was like a cheat, when sims are not walking on them now no sims appear when there are sims walking on them now you will see some sims. Look in the NAM readme for more info and how to use them

The HSRP is a seperate download/mod to NAM, just remove the HSR files in your plugins foder. Soon there you will be able to use monorail and HSR at the same time witjout it mucking up your current monorail system, see my sig for the HSR thread.

If you installed it in the "as downloaded" form.. they all are in a single folder called "HSRP" or very close to that

i've noticed in the latest version of NAM, that it removed the ground-highways single perpendicular off/on ramps... i see the elevated version is still available, but i'd like to have the ground-level highway option as well...

one further issue i've had with the latest version of the NAM is that i cannot seem to built multi-carriageway freeways unless they are all ground-highways (trying with two ground highways is alright, but trying with two elevated highways is a no-go...). are these bugs in NAM?
