check that the bridges files are in the folder at Plugins/NetworkaddonMod/AdditionalBridges

they may have been moved somehow in the update.

Love the 2009 NAM release! Considering all the work going into realism and increased network flexibility, anyone have any word on NWM updates? Can't wait to get those avenues looking more typical of real-world four-lane roads with turn lanes!

estates to the real, thanks for the kind words!  As far as the NWM stuff . . . it's kind of been an off-and-on project, and there really hasn't been that much done on it recently.

Hi all, I hope this gets read; the dates here seem a long time ago. I am fairly new to Sim City but I am already extremely addicted. I installed NAM but my zones don't seem to be able to recognize them as roads. I have laid out a tram-on-road and tram-on-avenue network with zones facing them. When I start the game I get a mass of 'no road connection' symbols. I guess I can have the zones facing the normal streets etc but if they can't recognize them as connections will they recognize them as routes?

Gayleau: The T-RAM is able to be accessed by zones, its just that when zoning, the game doesn't rotate it properly.

Anthewanthe: The second link you need to register there first. The first link used to take you to the Modds Section, but it has been merged with the STEX.

Hope this helps,

Vince

I don't know what to put here anymore.

Anthewanthe: Also the NAM on the STEX (that used to be in Mods Section) is the previous version, before the site upgrade we couldn't update it, but now Dirk has kindly raised the file size limit and merged the mods with the STEX. So it will be updated on the STEX soon.

This is excellent news eh? With the changes made to the STEX/Mods and downloads section, the NAM can now be instantly uploaded on Simtropolis just like other sites! I'm sure this will make everyone happy, and should resolve a lot of compatibility questions and problems members may be having.

Hope this is the right place to post.. I'm making a 1x2 diagonal transit-enabled lot, could you please tell me how to make the path on the road diagonal as well? I don't think I saw anything like that on SCTool, comparing the reps of similar custom lots isn't of any use apparently. Thanks in advance!

Might be better to ask that in the modding: general discussion section or make a new topic here in modding: transit networks.

The NAM contains 0 TE lots, so you won't get much of a response in this thread.

Hope that helps!

The March 2009 NAM install does not appear to match its readme.

The Readme file says it should install (required):

  • NetworkAddonMod_OverpassUpdate_Maxis_Components_Plugin.dat
  • SFBT_Rail Textures Mod_Darker Textures.dat
  • zzz_Dual_Rail_Texture_Maxis_Upgrade.dat
  • zzz_Dual_Rail_Texture_NAM_Upgrade.dat
  • zzz_Dual_Rail_Texture_STR_Upgrade.dat

The first of the above files contains modified Maxis overpasses that correct the color shift of the underlying networks. All NAM overpasses have been adjusted in the same way. All other files contain modified Rail textures that eliminate the color shift between Maxis and custom Rail textures for the zoom levels 1 to 4.

.... however, only the first 2 dats are found in my plugins folder(s), the zzz_Dua_Rail_Texture files are no where to be found. Is this a bug?

I downloaded the January '09 NAM, which was great, but I have a problem with the straight onramps, for ground highway. I read on the SC4d wiki thing that there was a problem with it in left hand drive configuration, which I have. Does anyone know of a way to remedy this?

While we're chatting about NAM...does anyone else have tram-in-road issues(crashing) or tram-in-avenue issues(trains and cars won't go through the stations and disappear instead)? If anyone does or at the very least knows how to fix these, it would be appreciated if you could reply ASAP.

On the stations on the tram-in-road, and in-avenue, you must drag one-way roads through the station, to "activate" it. On avenue the direction must be the same as the side of the avenue, on road it is no trouble which ever way you do it. On tram-in-avenue, some stations do not permit UDI to pass through, there are fixes/replacements for these at kurier.simcityplaza.de, I hear.

I would appreciate having exit ramps for use on the inside (left) of a RHW. Also, some insight on how to have a ramp or a RHW go over a RHW would be nice.

Hello whitesox130, let me see if I can help you.

First of all, what you have requested has already been made.  Do you have the latest version of the RHW?  (version 3.0)  It adds the left ramps and elevated RHW and ramp sections so you can go over RHW as well as other networks.

Secondly, this is a thread for the NAM itself, not for the RHW.  You can find that HERE as well as on SC4devotion.com.

Lastly, welcome to Simtropilis!  Its always nice to see new members make their first post.

Out of curiosity, has anyone else had difficulties installing custom bridges on the NAM June 2009? I've downloaded it and cannot install any custom bridges onto it. When I drag my highways, roads, railways across the water, only the default bridges show up.

I've been trying to search for this but can't find anything! I want to use the underground highway... i.e. use the ramp for underground avenue puzzle piece from the new NAM, ok that's easy to place but how do I connect one to the other as there don't seem to be puzzle pieces for underground highway, I might have missed something blatantly obvious, can someone point me in the right direction, it would be much appreciated.. TY :0)

OK!!! you know how it goes, ask the question and then you figure it out straight away LOL! I've just used the plain underground road puzzle piece and did a quick res to industrial underground connection to test it and it works :0)

When I drag an SAM street over a railroad, it shows up as a blank tile with just the terrain and no crossing. Is there a way to fix this?
