I got fed up with the double network start/end pieces, but I may BAT one of the two intersections above. Which one do you want me to do, the avenue, or the highway?

I say that you should do the Avenue one since to me it seems like it would be quicker than the higway one.

I agree with qwerty697 I think the avenue would be quicker for the both the designer and the modder... plus I would love this type of intersection so that I could make my avenues more like highways...
P.S. builderman awhile back i posted a pic of a turn i did... now it is just an idea, but if you just made turns out of puzzle pieces then you could use all the existing on ramps for puzzle pieces then just use two turns to get it onto the network you want... see below for a little descripition of what im t
talking about.

(going from the one ramp going up then right (on the dual network turn), then traveling across the Dual Network then on the down turn (on a dual network turn) and finaly to the right and onto the off ramp..)
 
 
the best benefits about these pieces are that they are multi purpose as the regular turns could be used anywhere (something i have wanted for a little now)

i agree with deaf and qwerty not only bc it would be quicker but bc i have much more ave on ave then i do highways.  Also builderman i hope you turned over what you did get done on the DN end peices.  I salivate daily thinking about that stuff.

Well, as far as DN pieces go I didn't get much done. I may go back to them, but I have a list of tasks starting with the London Eye Render and ending with modelling one of these two intersections.

Whichever one can be done the quickest works for me!

Although I'd rather see the Highway one, so that's my vote.

Wow Builderman, I think it is really great you want to build one of my two ideas!

I do not know what to vote... I both like them very much (that's why I came up with them).

However I think the highway is more beautifull, and adds more, I think I would use the avenue more...
The avenue-intersection might be made more beautiful by giving the overpass 4 lanes instead of 2, although that would also be more work.

Well, I think my vote goes to the avenue, and if it would get 4 lanes would be even better.

Bah, I don't see why we should do the avenue.....we can already do avenue overpasses (not exactly like this, but the same idea), and I thought that Tropod and all wanted to bring NEW things into the game that COULDN'T be done before. If that is still true.....the avenue idea shouldn't be done now.

Well, I'fe we're talking about the Avenue Flyover or the Highway Y intersection, I vote Highway.

okay... here is a better version of the turn i made a while back but i've caught a snag. I do not understand how to make the rails (and even less so as its at a curve). So if any one out there knows how to and wants to share please do or pm me with ur email (or just post it) so i can send u a zipped up version of the gmax file (the roads will be included for reference). Take a look a the pic below (remember its very simple, as i cannot do much more until i find out how to do the rails).

    Maybe PMiller19724 (or whatever number it is) could help you. PMiller seems to be very good at making textures (just a thought)

    hi, i could not read the whole thread34.gif, but the things you people are making are awesome29.gif. but i didnt see any any discusion on underpassess. i would really like to have underpasses in my cities. if you could make underpassess puzzle peices like the overpass pieces37.gif, it would be great19.gif. i also want to know if the overpass pieces are UDriveIt enabled34.gif.     Overpasses are U-Drive-It enabled. Underpasses aren't possible. Marrast and redlotus did a lot of work on them, but it just won't work.

    thanks builderman for the reply. cant the underpassess be like mixtures of puzzle blocks and actuall tunnels37.gif? anyway, i read a thread which showed pictures of undeerpassess made by making a steep slope and a tunnel and then having the other networks pass over it, can anyone please tell me how do i set the height of medium plazas when i put them on these steep slopes?34.gif34.gif34.gif

    You can fake an overpass, I thought you meant making functional overpasses out of the ones on the STEX. Search for marrast on the STEX and you'll see the overpasses, but they aren't UDI enabled.

    I saw the double rail version that someone made of marrasts underpass could someone make an ave ver of that or better yet just a underpass with nothing over the top but allow us to build what ever we want over it.  I think that would rule and would allow us to put underpasses  in places where overpasses wouldnt work like under say a RR and mono rail that are side by side.  Could also come in very handy for say going under a DN.  .

    I didnt think that there was any difference between a highway and an interstate in the game.  Besides isnt interstate an american term and we are the only ones that call it that.
