I'm sorry to hear that... SC4 is a very, very, very, VERY buggy game (pure EA style)... 15.gif

I recommend you to save 3 backup copies of your city file in a separate folder. As you keep saving, replace the oldest versions with these new saved files.

Hope to see your city thriving soon, best wishes, buddy! 2.gif

Crashes happen... happened to a lot of my cities i guess dont  just overload it with content. But with a crash comes room for improvement! We would like direct flights from Puerto Joya to Naha International Airport. Direct flights since we are near Taiwan!

Hi guys, its the holy week (and spent my days bedridden since i had to undergo detoxification...too much caffeine and nicotine and my mom thought i needed to detoxify lols) so not much work was done 15.gif

oh and im leaving for singapore by April 3 15.gif so it might take a while before im able to put up a new gaming rig there (but ill take as many screenshots as i can so i can release updates even if i dont have a PC yet then 9.gif)

but one things for sure...this CJ will not die (well as long as you still want it to continue hehe 9.gif)

    REPLIES

Pilotdaryl - yeah sad indeed..all an afternoons work gone to waste 15.gif

Gabry85 - buggy game indeed 15.gif this is the second time it crashed on me (first one was the district of La rhea) luckily back then i had a backup..unfortunately now, my backup is a few months old 15.gif

but its back though (i mean i built a new one) but its not ready for presentation yet 9.gif

Benedict - thanks 4.gif yeah im working on it now 9.gif

Mike the mayor - thanks mike 9.gif updates to come soon 9.gif

Charles Rodulfo - oi kabayan 4.gif yeah i heard about that transfer of the airport from NAIA to DMIA too 4.gif lets see what happens there XD

Skyliner22 - ahh yes the only good side to a crash, you learn from your mistakes and you can, with perseverance, create a better version 9.gif (flights accepted, what airline do we use? China Airlines or Philippine Airlines?) anyway, schedules on the new connections will be posted on my next update 4.gif)

Jambi - thanks 4.gif glad you liked the presentation

wir3d - yeah it sucks eh? 15.gif we just have to live with it and hopefully was able to back up lol

suplado! - oi pare, yeah its gone .... but a new one is up in the works 9.gif hopefully it will be better than the lost one 9.gif

    SNAPSHOTS!

OK so nothing major here, id just like to share my latest (yet again lol) Metro view and the crazy transportation map lols

see the island though, and the beaches ive done hehe 9.gif thats what my next update is about 4.gif

    REPLIES

    feliwi - thanks 4.gif

skyliner22 - PAL it is then 4.gif can we start with a weekly flight?

anyway some questions, (applies to all with whom new flights to PJIA have been established)

    1. how long do you think is the flight?

    2. what time does it arrive at PJIA and what time does it leave?

panthersimcity4 - thanks 4.gif yeah that crash really set me back as far as updates are concerned since it was supposed to be part of my next update 15.gif

aleko - thank you for the kind words 4.gif glad you read the start (and more glad that you liked it 9.gif)

    s_olah - thanks! 9.gif

SOME TUTORIAL ON THE PHOTOSHOPPED NIGHTLIGHT

since some of you guys asked how i did the night effects on the airport update here goes how i did it step by step 4.gif

    step 1

start with a day pic since it has more detail than the night pic.duplicate the image two times..the first one to raise the contrast and brightness level and the topmost layer to reduce the brightness to make it appear very dark

    step1.jpg

    step2.jpg

    step3.jpg

now the China airlines 747 and the parked 757 looks white so lets darken that (using the dark layer)

    step4.jpg

    STEP 2

identify the areas that you want to be "light up" and delete them (using the dark layer) using the brush tool

    step6.jpg

you can start by deleting them with higher opacity but smaller radius (more intense light has smaller radius right?) then delete again with a higher radius but lower opacity (light diminishes as you go farther)

    step5.jpg

    STEP 3

once you are satisfied with the "lit up" areas, you can now add the extra glows (applies to windows, light sources etc) for this ill show you the taxiway lights

use the lower layer (the one where you apply the high brightness and contrast)

i started by applying a faint amount (brush tool) of green on the taxiway lights

    step7.jpg

then i applied a more intense green (but smaller radius) and a more intense white (even smaller radius)

    step8.jpg

repeat the steps on whatever light source you want to emphasize

    STEP 4

once satisfied, you can then edit the darker areas again (if you want) and make them lighter or whatever..for this, i thought that the ramp should be lighter, so i deleted the darker areas towards the edge of the ramp (using large radius but lower intensity..again on the principle that light diminishes as you go farther from the light source)..

now a little brushing up and you can get to this

    step9.jpg

you can stop right here or refine it further if need be 4.gif

these are just the basic steps, as we learn further (im still experimenting more and with

Thank you naman, pare! 4.gif But I have my own ways of doing this using the GIMP; this includes adding in each taxiway light model and working on each one's lightning individually (this will be featured in my CJ's upcoming feature) and as for the terminal lightning effects that you made, I think those really look the best!  nice work and thanks for the tutorial!  I'll try to follow in on your footsteps. 4.gif

How lucky!  I had made my 1800th post here. 39.gif4.gif

Whoa, that is one HUGE region you're working with. It's unbelievable that even with all of the excellent work you've done so far, there's still a vast amount of space left to fill up in Puerto Joya. Great tutorial too, I have to try that sometime!

The amazing thing about this tutorial is that most if not all the things you mentioned can be applied using the free GIMP program as well. Wicked sick!

EDIT: I just noticed your signature. That's quite a lot of Filipino-made CJs...

    MINI UPDATE

Salise Corp and Megaworld signs MOA on development of old Puerto Joya International Aiport

    from : Philippine Business Daily

The winning bidder for the 110 hectare property where the old Puerto Joya used to stand was a joint consortium between property giant Megaworld and the local Salise Group of companies ( owner of the biggest banana plantation and exporter in the Philippines)

"We intend to build a city within a city, an alternative to the Ayala Global City" said Clark Salise Jr., Chairman and CEO of the Salise Group of Companies

"The concept of our project will be a live-work-play type of development where you can do your basic needs and more within walking distance from your home" he elaborated

Megaworld is known for developing high-end properties including residential and commercial projects. Among its biggest projects are the Empire East Land Holdings Inc. and Empire East Properties Inc.

Among the planned features of the Joint venture project are a BPO Complex envisioned to be Puerto Joya's largest, a convention center, a financial district, a 5 star hotel, residential towers and a Retail and lifestyle center where a mall will rise along with a 15,000 seat indoor arena (to be Puerto Joyas biggest) and a leisure center

The joint venture agreement/consortium was the highest bidder for the prime property with a bid of P5 billion, the other bidders were Robinsons Land, Kuok Group of Companies, Empire East, SM Prime and Ayala Land

SM Prime was the second highest bidder and wanted to capitalize on the site's strategic location  in its bid to dominate the local Mall Market, SM Prime already operates 2 of the largest malls in Puerto Joya and intended to add another one at the site to be complemented by a BPO complex and a lifestyle center

Ayala Land, developer of Puerto Joya's premiere business district, the Ayala Global City, was the third highest bidder but did not disclose their plans for the site
