Mike the Mayor - thanks Mike 4.gif glad you liked the airport, it isnt big though as my city isnt that big (pop currently at 1.4 milion) ill show more pics once it opens 9.gif im itching to demolish the old one now lol

jacqulina - soon my friend 4.gif its nowhere near presentable yet lol as im not that experienced in making nature scenes but i try 9.gif

Benedict - haha yeah, as soon as i posted the pic i thought "err *****, why did i put that power substation there" LOL

pilotdaryl - oi pare 4.gif ill post more pics this week, i want to finish off the introduction part (boy, this is the 4th update yet its still all introductions) and move on to the next chapter 4.gif

Smarty218 - thanks smarty 4.gif that was very flattering 4.gif

connorc24 - yo west 4.gif thanks, as i was typing the update i thought err i didnt have pics of the time when i was still reclaiming the land, luckily i had a region backup, opened it and luckily it was the region where the airport was still being reclaimed 9.gif lets negotiate about the flight once the terminal opens 9.gif

anyway, should i keep the ashy textures or are the regular asphalt textures better? im still 50/50 which to  choose coz i like em both lol well ideally id like the highways and the avenues to be dark, but the streets and roads to be ashy 4.gif does anyone know how to accomplish that? which files do i delete?

Awesome city I like the fact that you show a development in time very cool. Btw why did they choose to build the airport in sea and not in the hintherlands?

Btw where did you find those containerterminals you use in the port? and sorry to bother you the elevated railwaystation??

sorry for the quick reply (might seem like im bumping the CJ) but i felt like i had to answer petriknl's questions now 4.gif

    Jacqulina - thanks 4.gif i hope so too 4.gif

bbfan02 - thanks my friend 4.gif my next update wont be pretty though but i hope you still visit it 9.gif

petriknl - glad you liked how i presented my CJ 4.gif thanks

about the airport, two reasons actually

    1. the rest of the region is hilly, in fact, if you look at the region view, youll find there is limited flat land

    2. i (or they lol) wanted to integrate the transportation network esp the seaport and airport with the export processing zone, plus this way, the airport is accessible via the skytrain (elevated rail) and since im reclaiming land anyway, so why not include an airport too 9.gif

about the port, its from somy 4.gif the other container terminals are downloadable off STEX too. i just arranged them such that itd look like this terminal i saw in the net (manila container terminal)

about the elevated rail station, its actually a monorail station . The rail/track is a shinkansen mod (though i forgot where i got it sorry and its not at STEX im afraid)

    hope this helps 4.gif

Great survey from the past till now! I like all steps of the development, you even got a nice airport her (did you know that I don't like airports at all?)

Take care (and don't forget to make backups!)

Dude, your CJ is just amazing! I love the new airport but i have a request for Puerto Joya's authorities: Don't close the old airport, repeat, do not close the old one because it's just beautiful and real, just like real small airports in old towns. I love it and looks really great in the middle of the town!!! maybe you cau use it for small planes or charter flyghts.

    Hope to see more soon!

Nardo69 - thanks for reading my CJ bernhard, yeah after a major crash, i have learned that backups are a real life saver 9.gif

Jaime_ua - Glad you liked the new airport 4.gif as far as the old airport though, well its a surprise 9.gif but the authorities have deemed it expensive to keep it running (and dangerous since new skyscrapers are being built along the landing path) and have decided to sold the lot to fund for the payment for the new airport 15.gif but what will be built there is a surprise

    Slowhand - Pilipinas pare 4.gif davao 9.gif

suplado! - thanks idol 9.gif salamat sa google earth coz i had the chance to look at images of subic and the industrial parks at calabarzon lols

Kiwi n Grapes - thanks for reading my cj, glad you liked the airport

a mosaic of the Poblacion (downtown)

    massiveresidential.jpg

    newtower.jpg

a massive residential complex rises on the other side of the river, while another one is being constructed at the Ayala Global City (top) fronting the park.once finished, the residents of the two towers could probably look at each other thru telescopes since there arent any high rises between them lols

    chinatown.jpg

chinatown: new pailous were built, and aparments have risen as well

gabry85 - Glad you liked the snapshots gabry 4.gif yeah its fun building waterfront developments. I had to post pics of the

downtown since i think i havent posted a pic of it since the first update lol

connorc24 - Thanks west (haha i call you west even if your username here is connorc24 lol)

GreekMan - Thank you for your kind words 4.gif I have to thank the great CJers here (too many to mention) since i get most of

my inspiration and ideas from them

Jaime_ua - Dont worry, something good will rise on the site..The airport remains open though as the new one is still

unopen 15.gif but i hear rumours of a deal between the contractor and the government that would hopefully mean the opening of

    the new terminal 9.gif

panthersimcity4 - Thanks neighbor (can i call you my neighbor CJ? 9.gif) looking forward to updates from Salau too 9.gif

UPDATE 5 : Outside the urban core

Warning! massive yet (probably) boring update lol, i would understand if you will, at some point, doze off while reading

    3.gif

Before we begin, I would like to invite you to an overview of the metro area first since this recaps what I have shared so far and where i will resume. As seen on the metro view, the urban core only comprises a small amount of the entire city and, as explained in the previous update, the city is bounded by smaller cities.

    PuertoJoyacopy.jpg

click here to see a metro view without any graphics 4.gif

    Outside the Urban core:

So far, I have shown you the urban core districts. In this update however, id like to share the districts outside the urban core. While much of the developments and commercial activities are on the urban core, the districts beyond this area are a mix of sprawling residential developments (usually low-cost), agricultural lands and some small-medium manufacturing industries.

    The Southern Districts (pink line)

We start off the 5th update along the southern part of the city. As what can be seen from the metro view, the southern coast is bounded by hilly terrain. Sprawling inward development is limited and so are large agricultural areas.Development, instead, is concentrated along the coast

There isnt much development between the Sta. Cruz and Puerto Joya, along the highway are trees and a few small houses. As we approach Puerto Joya though, the houses become more dense and some small agricultural lands are present.still there is few commercial activity

    Chr ...

Ooops - the update is already over???? 47.gif

*sorry but I just had to make that joke ... *

I have to agree with frogface - nice overall feelings and a astonishing farm layout.

There are just two things I don't like:

    - The railway crossings at the highway exit ramps - you build that overpass, so why didn't you connect the ramps on the overpass without a unnecessary and dangerous level crossing?

    - The freight station at the main track. Freight cars can easily stay hours till days or weeks at loading and unloading stations, that's why they are always on a siding and never on the main track 2.gif

Other than that it was a great boring update!

    Take care my friend!

WOW! Amazing update, I loved the highways for starters, they were great. I also really REALLY liked your farmland, it looked soooo realistic! I loved the rural communities too, the road system with the underpasses was great!

Phew, I still haven't covered everything, but you get the point!
