Yes, that can work. For example if you screen shot the JR Shinjuku Eki sign, and then used it in GMAX to mold the sign out yourself that would work. Also applying those billboards will work too, as long as they aren't too pixelated. But most of google earth shots is a box with pictures on it. You have to make your station, as a detailed replica of the real thing.
