Ok...I did not know you can recreate a real city in SC 4........ Puerto Joya is amazing! I love the aereal view of the entire region. It's really helpfull to find out where are all the districts and farms. Just a little question......how do you build something like that???? do you plop? do you use cheats? or are those pics the result of months of hard work???

Congrats my friend!!!!

Welcome to page number 7 of the most realistic Cj

geez, wake me up when it's over. why must you bore me?!

just kidding, man. this was a spectacular update! i see your are using the high speed rail mod. i tried it before, but didn't really care for it. but you seem to make it flow nicely.

might i suggest a mod? try out a sidewalk mod; i think some of your denser area will look better with different textures. the one i use is found over on SC4 Devotion; it is a sandstone texture. only a suggestion; just disregard it if you want.

i also enjoy seeing your farms and ports; they are quite realistic. this is an amazing CJ, great work!

    REPLIES

frogface- thank you for those kind words 4.gif  i like khaled too 9.gif

Nardo69 - Hey bernhard 9.gif glad you liked the development

about the rail, thanks for the tips. To be honest, ive no clue about rails since there arent any here in my city 15.gif so thank you

the only railways ive seen are the ones in Manila and i dont see much since most ive seen is when i pass thru areas like these..LOL

    sidetrip-28.jpg

the railway crossing the highway exits though, well im targetting the economic side of it 4.gif i figured out that the trains would only pass 1-3 times per day so it would be too expensive to make special provision such that the rail wont cross any exits 4.gif (well that and the fact that im still learning to use the exits lol)

hey i just noticed you have a railway tutorial, i better start reading it then 9.gif

Smarty218 - Thanks Smarty 4.gif Glad you liked the highways and the farms, twas a pain to develop since it was my first time to use the RHW and boy did i had to do so many repeats lol

Jaime_ua - thanks for the very kind comment Jaime 4.gif Glad that you found the region view (or metro view in Puerto Joya terms lol) helpful

how did i do it, its a mixture of Plops, cheats (moolah is such a helpful cheat eh) and months of hard work of course i grew too (probably 30% plop and 70% grew though residential plops dont work so the residentials are all grown) 9.gif

the region took me a few months of development before i was able to start the CJ

nihonkaranws- thanks! it wouldnt be like this if not for your contribution though (so again i thank you)..love those JDM bats

that isnt an elevated rail bridge though, its a monorail bridge. It just automatically replaced the monorail bridge to look like that. I used the Shinkansen Mod BTW..but since i cant remember where i got it, i just uploaded the file for you. You can download it here

pilotdaryl - thanks pare, well the layout/pattern of roads (at least the highways and their locations) are patterned after Davao 4.gif so i had a hometown inspiration

bbfan02 - I was..why? didnt you doze off while reading lol..thought it wasnt interesting but i just felt i had to post these parts to complete my introduction to the city (lol took me 5 updates to complete an intro)

connorc24 - Thanks for your invitation and warm welcome to the AU too my friend

Schulmanator - Thanks for the very flattering comment my friend 4.gif much appreciated

SODATWIN - Thanks, i do strive to make the developments patterned after the Philippines 4.gif

GreekMan - Haha, when i said boring, i was under the impression that this would be a boring update since the images more or less look the same. add to that the number of pictures lol

Dsrwhat316 - thanks for the suggestion Dan 4.gif that mod sounds interesting.Ill look it up on sc4dev then 9.gif High spee

OPENING OF THE NEW PUERTO JOYA INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT PASSENGER TERMINAL

It was another  congested day at the Puerto Joya International Airport. The terminal was jampacked with passengers, some flights were still delayed and passengers and airport workers were under a lot of stress

But there was something unusual in the air. An sentimental aura among the passengers and employees was prevalent. People were taking pictures more than the usual. The Airline employees were looking at their workstations as if it were the last.
Of course it was...It was the last day of operations at the old Puerto Joya International Airport as the New Terminal will finally open the next day

More than a month ago, the Supreme Court has finally made a decision regarding the dispute between the Philippine Government and the Contractors of the new terminal. Dragging for almost two years, the investigations regarding the overpricing and kickbacks were finally over and the "corrected" price was indentified. As per the court's decision, the remaining unpaid contract was to be granted to the contractor by allowing them to operate the terminal for a period of 5 years (thru terminal fees, rental fees etc...ok dont ask for more details lol im not privy to the contract 9.gif)

    preopeningcheck.jpg

Fast forward to the final day of operations at the old airport

From the outside, it looked like a typical day at the old Puerto Joya International Airport

In the morning, an unfamiliar sight beckons...no more passengers trying to catch their flight, no more planes parked at the tarmac
    unfamilardawn.jpg

16km south, another unfamilar sight.. the lights are on at the new passenger terminal
    firstdawnarrival.jpg

at the taxiway, a familar visitor at an unfamiliar location (i promise this is the last time ill use the term "familiar" in this update lol)..fittingly, it was the nations flag carrier to first touch down (passenger plane) at the new terminal
    PALarrival.jpg

The passengers disembark the PAL plane from Manila to be greeted by the smell of the brand new terminal

It's  nice airport. (I don't like airports at all, if I post more than two words about them you may regard it as appreciation 2.gif )

About my tutorial, well I speak about the rather elaborate German / Midde European railways, I do know that in other countries (unfortunately) railways aren't that important.

Nevertheless a railway crossing on a ramp is a potential danger for all vehiycle on a  highway or highway ramp so that I don't think such death traps could be tolerated anywhere ...

Take care (and don't forget to make backups!)

This is undoubtedly my favorite Asian-style CJ! I was just looking at some cities in the Philippines a while ago and realized how superly realistic your city is! I love your airport pictures. Can't wait to see more! 9.gif

Yeah look at that tiny ol' lady lol! The president sure is having a lot of fun seeing the new airport.

Realistic! Absolutely realistic. That pic with the JAL plane taking off is a masterpiece!

We have NAIA, Davao, Mactan, and now Puerto Joya Int'l.
