This city is excellent and you are awesome for making it. It is a little cluttered and some buildings are a little misplaced, but you make up for that by being so thorough about how the city has developed through the ages. It really makes the city a lot more believable. I might disagree with some of the choices you have made, but because you give a reason for everything, that doesn't matter. The thing that bothered me the most is how the railway cuts through downtown. It seems more likely that it would be place on the outskrits of the old city centre. I liked the 80's subdivision the most. I can just picture all the people with big hair, pink suits, and cell phones the size of backpacks living there. 3.gif Just keep doing what you're doing. It looks great so far. 4.gif

Geronimo - thanks 4.gif glad you liked the intro, and i hope you'll like the present day tours (soon) as well

Dsrwhat316 - OMG, that mod is heaven sent, thanks for giving me the link (and thanks to the creator of the mod 9.gif) yeah that brown patch bugs me too, thankfully that mod fixed it for me 4.gif

    The_Hutt - Thanks 4.gif

Connorc24 - haha, yeah, i figured it out because of the CJ in your sig 9.gif

HamsterTK - thanks, this is my second try at a CJ, the first one was like it too (clarkstown) but the file got corrupted when i built my new PC 15.gif

heinrick123 - haha 9.gif you a davaoeno too? in fact the general layout is patterned after davao, the sprawl, the rivers even the old airport..Punta JOya, basically the shape of the region is patterned after davao, but the downtown is a mix between davao and cebu.ive taken inspiration from developments all over the country too (punta joya is like subic, the old airport that will soon be developed into..well im not sure yet, is like the mandurria airport in iloilo ..and so on)

of course davao doesnt have the skyline like puerto joya as the tallest in davao is only 18 floors (yeah too few high rises for a city of 1.5 million 15.gif)

    dralin321 - what a flattering comment 4.gif i am humbled...thanks

    allez l'om - thanks, i hope so too 4.gif

    lindsay-akihita-aomori - thanks 4.gif

jacqulina - thanks jaky 4.gif well technically it is still update 1 continued 4.gif but watch out for update two 4.gif

Mulefisk - thanks for the advice, ive been reading your CJ and its great, i could sure learn a lot from you 4.gif

the cluttered development and the randomness especially at the city center is typical for most major cities in the philippines (you should check images of metro manila lol) same with the railway too (But it bugs me so much as it limits the development of the city center so i might reroute it later) passenger railways isnt popular in the philippines anyway so i find no use for it (actually im thinking of abolishing it)

masochist - thanks, actually this is the latest of about 3 attempts of making puerto joya lol so the ones i posted earlier were different cities 9.gif im trying to keep it less "progressive" and the others just were too "first world" for my taste haha

sc4portugal - thanks, ill need a lot of them with all the crashes ive been going through 15.gif 2gb of plugins and mods is making my crysis rig crawl LOL

Berethor07  - thank you 4.gif please do com

glad I could be of help to you!

and that is an awesome mosaic. i like how you opted to have some greenery in the city rather than just a concrete jungle. a nice touch!

Very nicely done. An abundance of information makes the Introduction worthwhile. Great work. I would love to see more.

Superb start to this cj. Your use of photoshopping has definetly added to it. Some of those early photos look almost real.

Keep up the good work and i look forward to seeing more.

    REPLIES

SimRabbit - thanks (and a belated merry christmas too)  /* reads sig lol

Dsrwhat316- yeah twas very helpful 4.gif is there a mod that removes the patch of white (or brown) on diagonal roads? 9.gif

yeah the city is kinda green still, but in a random sort of way (as are most cities ive seen in the philippines) im limiting the number of skyscrapers too since Puerto Joya is in a developing country after all 9.gif

Smarty218 - glad you liked it 4.gif i just realized its kinda fun making mosaics lol, allows me to post bigger images haha..so should a mosaic be strictly vertical or is it possible to make horizontal mosaics too? im thinking 4 640x480 images (2 across and 2 down) next time

gabry85 - thanks, im afraid i may no longer have "old pictures" as these are the only ones i captured during the early stages of my city 15.gif i think theres a pic or two still but im gonna check my fraps folder first 4.gif and then figure out how to insert it in my next update 4.gif

bbfan02 - thanks, yeah i love those seawalls too that i use them alot 9.gif that and the japanese breakwaters are just lovely

Shingure - Glad you found the long intro (and too much text) a worthwhile read 4.gif i was afraid i would bore people with too much blah blah 9.gif

NMUSpidey - thats the "BLAM high capacity Monorail Station" id put the link, but im writing the reply on notepad ATM and will paste them later as i post my update lol, so just type the keyword on STEX if i forget to type the link LOL

KingTitan - thanks, and soon, when i get to the rural part, ill make reference as to how you made your forests (great forests and rivers BTW, im inspired)

masochist - lol thanks to the traffic generating lots 4.gif its fun plopping them and creating horrible traffic jams /makes a sinister laugh

    vivydu29 - thanks 4.gif

Peng74 - thanks, i try to make them look photorealistic but they are hard, its easier on black and white photos though by blurring them hahaha

Geronimo - glad you liked the city center, well thats as "parky" (lol for the term) as it could probably get, since im trying to recreate a kinda disorganized city outside the city center 9.gif but i hope youll like the chaos too 4.gif

jacqulina - thanks jaky 4.gif hmm maybe itd be nice if you had a tropical cabin at kembali9.gif

panthersimcity4 - thanks, i just read your CJ and am lovin the images too (for some reason i like looking at the esteban heights pic 4.gif)
