Two words for your vid: LOVE IT!

I have a question though, have you been NOMINATED or have you WON the MOTM?

Have a nice day -TheChosenOne

    Replies:

starrychelx:  My resolution is 1920x1200.  I can get it that high because I have a large widescreen monitor.

Theirishnintendonerd:  Thanks a lot!  Glad you like the RHW!

    TV-VCR:  Hey, thanks a lot!

    un1:  Thanks!  Great?  Wow!

hamish:  Thanks Hamish!  Youtube just went even more HD!

Ryusuke516:  I use fraps to record.  Thanks!

blue sinjid:  Thanks a lot!  Yep, HD may take some time to buffer on slower connections.

    DougOZ:  Thank you very much!

patriots_1228:  I love that song!  I'm glad you enjoyed it too.

futurama2506sim:  Its one of my favorites too.  Glad you enjoyed it!
-I have a good computer by todays standards, but SC4 can still run slow at times.

Archean:  Yep, its a first, I'll give you that!
-Its amazing that I haven't had a crash in quite some time... SC4 seems much more stable on my PC nowadays which is always a good thing.

masochist:  Thank you very much!  Good luck making an HD video for yourself!
-That's not a school bus, its a stretch Hummer!  (run on hydrogen fuel cells 3.gif)

caspervg:  Thanks a lot!  HD is better eh?

    TheChosenOne:  No problem, you're welcome!
-Remember that I just have an alpha build of RHW 3.0.  El-RHW is still a little unstable right now.  But don't worry, it will be perfect by the time for public release!

kj3400:  Hehe, thanks a lot!  By GTR standards, that road isn't that long 3.gif.

starrychelx (2):  Sure, here is my code:
    "C:\Program Files\Maxis\SimCity 4\Apps\SimCity 4.exe" -CustomResolution:enabled -r1920x1200
-Just make sure to change that 1920x1200 to whatever resolution your monitor uses.

Patricius Maximus:  Hey, thanks a lot!  HD FTW!

PhatHead:  Thanks Phat!  Glad you enjoyed the stretch Hummer in the video!

granto93:  Hehe, why are they going so slow? 3.gif  Thanks for the comment!

    newyorkrunaway1:  Thanks a lot!

thepokemaniac:  Actually its the present 3.gif.  Thanks for commenting!

Zezug:  Isn't it?  I love the new format!
-Werid eh?  Hope you didn't see the vid in this one... 3.gif

Godzillaman:  Hehe... Maybe not 2x, but maybe 1.5x.

Need4Camaro:  Wow, thanks a ton!  Glad you enjoyed the video!

patriots_1228 (2):  Hehe... I do use a lot of TG stuff, that good enough?

Blue Lightning:  Hehe, thanks!  Hope you enjoy the birthday special!

blue sinjid (2):  I sure hope you can!  It won't come any sooner 3.gif

suplado!:  Thanks a lot!  Hope you enjoy the birthday special!

    Patricius Maximus (2):  Hehe, thanks!

Schulmanator:  Thanks a lot!  Glad you enjoyed reading the interview!
    -Interesting.  I never knew that.

williamshen:  I use fraps.  Just change the shortcut code to this for 1680x1050:
    "C:\Program Files\Maxis\SimCity 4\Apps\SimCity 4.exe" -CustomResolution:enabled -r1680x1050

Theirishnintendonerd (2):  Thanks!  No HSR here, just bullet train!  3.gif

Victor Valdes:  Hey, thanks a lot!  Glad you enjoyed the video!

    TheChosenOne (2):  Thanks a lot!
-I was nominated, and also won MOTM.

GreekMan:  Hehe, thanks!  Time does fly...

    TV-VCR (2):  Hehe, I see you did!

qinbenjiaren:  I have been quoted that in the past.  Glad you are enjoying this CJ!

TheChosenOne (3):  That's a good question.  I actually kind of forget 3.gif, but I think I use some CPT Itallia terrain mod or something like that.  Check the SC4D LEX terrain files.

Blue Lightning (2):  You posted before the update!  Thanks for the birthday wishes and I hope you enjoy the celebrations!

TV-VCR:  HA!  I should really get a GTR car mod for the GTR!  3.gif

simcitymaster101:  In some areas, yes.  I avoid most traffic problems by using a complex, efficient transit system, highway network and the NAM traffic simulators.
-Do you have the NAM?  The traffic simulators in there should really help your gridlock.

The Greater Terran Region is Officially 1 Year Old!

It was one year ago this day when I first showcased my region to the public.  Back then, RHW 2.0 wasn't out (No MIS), the NAM was much more limited, and the GTR was much smaller than it is now.  Over the past year I have sharpened my playing skills even further, and, with the constructive comments I have received, made the GTR a better place.

I have prepared a rather large update to celebrate the GTR's first birthday, so enjoy!

The update will be divided up into 3 sections, which contain:
    1.  Region view update, showing what's planned for the GTR.
    2.  15 1920x1200 pictures
    3.  A High-Def Video

    Picture Information:

    NOTICE:  Please Read!

Before I post some pictures of my cities, please know that I strive for the best quality of my images possible.  Every picture from here on-in is not photoshopped in any way, and is taken directly from the game to show you exactly what I see in the game.  The only editing done is converting the .PNG file to .JPEG.

***IMPORTANT***    Also, please know that my pictures are COMPRESSED, and are NOT RESIZED! When you resize a picture, a ton of the image's quality is lost, and is shrunk to comply with SC4D's picture size limits (800x600 STRONGLY recommended for MD's).  Compressing the image retains the quality, but looks terrible when squeezed to comply with site limits.

But, I have found a loophole in this problem.  Each compressed picture displayed will be linked to the actual uncompressed, true image.  All you have to do to view the image in its FULL RESOLUTION (1920x1200) is to simply click on the compressed image displayed in this City Journal  (800x500).  The reason that the images are not 800x600 is because I present my pictures in widescreen (16:10 aspect ratio), making the image much more appealing for the human eye's stereoscopic vision.

If you have any questions or comments about how I display my images, feel free to post a reply.

    Red: Planned Highways.

Pink: Planned Railways (includes bullet trains, GLR, etc.).

    Green: Planned state/national parks.

    Blue: Planned/existing major airports.

    Maroon: Planned/existing ports.

    Gray: Planned short-term urban expansion.

    Part 3: High-Def Video.

This video will showcase a night drive through Terran Settlement and its various RHW networks.  This video was also made by-request.  Enjoy!

Again, I will provide a link for both standard-def and high-def.  An ever larger video can be found via the link provided.
-If you have any problems viewing the video, you should also follow the link.  Don't forget to turn on your speakers!

Watch in Standard-Definition.  (Recommended for slower connections.)

A whole year? Seems like 2 years. Of course, more has happened in 2008 than the past 4 years combined, in my opinion.

Happy birthday, GTR! It was a great update, and I like how you have maintained the "classic feel" over the past year consistently.

May 2009 be as good for the GTR as 2008.

Happy Birthday to the GTR! It is truly a marvel, what you have built here, I still remember being amazed by your interchanges in the old "Show us your interchanges!" thread. Your work has consistently improved. I certainly do hope to see this around for a second birthday, even if I'm merely lurking2.gif!
