Another great Trixie Awards!  Congratulations to everyone, especially N_O_Body who I believe took the most awards despite being snubbed for the Best Virtual Restaurant title.

And thanks again for my dubious, yet much-appreciated award... boy I look good in a tux! 9.gif

Also, a big thanks to the Admins and Mods for making this such a successful event, it certainly lived up to the hype. Here's to many more to come! 9.gif

Growing up and maturing, eh? Seems odd to get an award for doing something that basically everyone does.... then again, this is the internet, so maybe being mature is more of a rarity than you'd think.3.gif

....and for the record, that was not a pig fetus. It was a newborn human baby suffering from a horrible birth defect. But yeah, avataring that was a moment of being impulsive and not thinking first on my part.

That was a good 3 years ago, though, so I'm rather surprised someone remembered it.

(And queue cliche speech and music)Oooo, gosh this is so unexpected there are so many to thank....

First off as Dirk said, thank you to the Admins who took the time to count all 1089 nominations. I'm really glad I was able to win an award, especially in my first year. I put alot of work and planning into The Making of Brookeshire. After two unsuccessful city journals, I think I finally found a good combination of unique architecture and city planning. I'd really like to thank all the people who nomiated me and who view Brookeshire. I hope to continue to be an active part of the community for years to come.

And a final Congrats to all other winners and runner ups for the Trixies. There are alot of deserving people who I'm glad I saw win. I special Congrats to Darmok for winning Best City Journal.

Congratulations to everyone who recieved a Trixie this year!  I'd like to call a few people out, if I may...

Brad-MacD: Well deserved!  Thanks so much for opening the Writer's thread, definitely one of my favorite single places on all of SimTropolis!

jplumbley: After chatting with you about the summary of the SAM, I realized that you had been involved in a good number of mods and addons that I considered crucial to the survival of SC4.  You definitely deserve Most Valuable SC4 Member!

abcvs: Congrats on your awards!  It would've been a travesty of justice if you weren't recognized for your efforts.

iamgoingtoeathotdogsalot: Your mosaics are the best!  Congrats on your CJ awards!

ILL Tonkso and pegasus: You two have become my favorite BAT'ers.  Thank you guys so much for all the effort and dedication you put into making this game ever better!

jacqulina: Still the kindest person on ST, still the most amazing terraformer on ST 9.gif!

N_O_Body: No doubt you deserve every single award you got, and then some!

bixel: You brought a whole new world to the game that SC4 was sorely lacking in.  Congrats on your awards!

BlondeTwiggy: Geez, I think I read your name more than any other tonight!  I don't think your award does you justice...

dirk and the ST Staff: Thanks for your tireless efforts in keeping this site up and running smoothly.  Here's to another year 44.gif!!!

Also, thank you to whoever nominated me for an award.  Just having that one nomination is a great honor to me 5.gif!

Great ceremonies this year, guys!

Congratulations to all of the winners.  39.gif

We are still working out a few wrinkles in the medals so, if yours isn't right, let me know.

Thanks!

Edit:  if you are on a team that won and don't yet have a medal, don't worry.  We haven't spoken with all of the team captains yet.  Team medals usually take a few days to sort out.

Well...  What can I say?  ...

Thank you!  Thank you for all the nominations and for the Most Valuable SC4 member Award.  I still feel as though there are members who are more worthy of this award.  I am begining to feel like I have finally given something back to the community after feeling so inadequate next to some of the great members who have supported me over the last year and a half.

I would like to thank you all for all the 2nd place awards I recieved aswell.  Modd of the Year, Most Valuable Modder and Most Eloquent Tongue Lashing by a Non-Staffer.  BTW, Im wondering what I was being voted for on that one...  Hmmm Tongue Lashings are good sometimes, it gets things off your chest.

Thank you for the Team awards aswell.  NAM Team, 3 awards, NHP Team, 1 award.  I am very lucky to be a part of the 3 teams I have been invited to, NHP, NAM and BSC.  Without the support of everyone within these teams, none of what I have strived to achieve would have been possible.  Collectively, we work together and any award that comes my way is shared by the rest of the team.

I would like to thank each of the people who have stood by and given me the help I requested:

NHP Team - Where would I have been without you guys.  Beskhu3epmn, Blade2k5, thank you for being the founding members of the team.  Wouanagaine..  You've been mighty helpful when ever I have asked.

Barbyw..  You have been a level head in times of need.  You've been an inspiration to achieve greatness in Custom Content Quality.  Thank you for taking me under your wing during the NHP FLOG Project.

Ripplejet.. Dude, you deserve this more than I do.  Your work on the CAM is simply astounding for the amount of time and effort you've put into it.  Im just glad I could attempt to help on the heels of your coattails when I could.  You've been a good friend.

Tarkus.. Man, have we had some times together.  All those evenings where we sat there passing RULs back and forth over MSN.  Talk about long nights, and you guys think the Staff here pulled some all nighters, try looking at RUL Code for more than 6 hours at a time LOL.. JK the Staff did a great job doing the ballot counting.

Diggis.. The right hand man of SAM.  What can I say, you saved me alot of time by doing all those textures for me.  Man, I still would be working on the first release if it wasnt for you.

Andreas Roth..  Thank you for all the support and general help behind the scenes all the time.  If you didnt let me pick your brain all the time, where would I be?

Congradulations to all the other winners.  Another great year in the SC4 Community, hopefully 2008 will be even better.

Once again, thank you.

First, I'd like to say thank you to the admins for all the hard work they did to get these awards out as fast as possible! 44.gif

To the rest of the ST community...

ROCK ON!!! 39.gif

Finally, I'd like to say thank you to my sponsors, my manager, and all the people that voted for me! We'll start producing great music....

Whew!!!     4.gif

This is my third Trixie Awards Ceremony as an  Administrator and my fourth overall.  And it doesn't get old10.gif

Congratulations to all of the winners, runners-up, and nominees.   And thanks to everyone who voted.

Dirk could have made the awards about the elite of the elite of the hardcore SimCity players.  But in his vision, as he has always done, he chose to recognise the best of SimTropolis across the board  for this particular year.  That really makes The Trixies a celebration of the cybercommunity as a whole.  And a Community, who as representatives of the fandom, that doesn't have to rely on the rise and fall of any one computer game or gamemaker to be successful and enjoyable.  This Community, her Members, her Staff, and the Webmaster really are the best on the Internet!  10.gif

... and remember, if there are glitches, let SkiGeek know! 3.gif

Congrats to everyone who won! Great job guys. Your presence in this community has really made things easier and more fun for people like me. Great job all.

And I've gotta say, this whole Trixie thing was loads of fun. I was surprised to see I actually got nominated for something! The suspense, day after day after day, was so intense and these celebrations are exhilarating!

Anyways, thanks to all the staff that had to work so hard for the past few days too give us these Trixies. Crazy stuff.

Well, I'm done. Maybe my heart will return to its normal rate now...

Some interesting things to note:

-mrbisonm's got a single file march going. 1,1,1,1,1

-and rybolton's counting the steps for it with his 1,2,1,2,1

-dirk's now goes 3,3,2,1,1... shame, two more and he would have kept the Fibbonacci sequence going.

-SkiGeek is no longer the most decorated member! Tropod has 15 medals, SkiGeek 14 (this includes MOTM medals, it's 14-12 excluding them).

...Yikes, is it really 1:40 AM? Finishing documenting all the new medals and labels will have to wait until tomorrow. I'm gonna go blow some z's now.

Well done Paul, Simfox and T-Wrecks! BAT of the year! 4.gif Woo hoo! I'm thrilled that a HKABT work made BAT of the year! A bit of my nomination made it into the final thing too... And congrats to Hotdogs for taking out the prestigious Awe Inspiring City Award, very well deserved! And to everyone else, I’m sure this was a very successful Trixies for many members!

And wow, I got one lol... didn't expect that and especially didn't expect to get it for what I did... Thanks anyway, I’m over the moon to win one! 18.gif

Oh and how could I forget Bixel, Highest overall quality in custom content, well ha, no surprises there! Well done! 44.gif

By the way, I think Dirk just changed the top banner as I refreshed this page, looking very cool!

Hey, if you saw the spreadsheet I used to put together the code for the medals, you'd run too.  3.gif

I'm at a loss for words yet again as winning awards is not something I'm used to, plus being singled out among dozens of map makers is even more of a surprise.  I'm still pinching myself to see if I am really awake, or if this is some kind of a twisted dream......[pinches self again]......nope.  I'm definitely awake.

A bad attempt of humor aside, I would like to thank those of you who nominated me, it feels odd not knowing who you are, but a little mystery in one's life is a good thing.

I also would like to thank all of those who've left positive and even the negative comments for the 5 dozen or so maps I've made and to those who took the time to rate as well.  It just wants to make me try even harder to create a great map.

I also want to thank those fans of my maps who've become friends of mine over the past year.  I've appreciated your honest feedback on maps I'm thinking of sharing with the rest of the community.  Every single one has been a hit.

I would also like to thank all my NHP teammates for all their support and contributions to my maps, I couldn't have done it without you guys.

Lastly, I would like to thank the genius who created that wonderful little toy cal SC4 Terraformer.  If it hadn't been for you Wou,  we'd still be stuck  rendering maps the hard way and with a lot less stunning detail.  Your program truly revolutionized  SC4 map making.  Thank you.

Out of curiosity, is it possible to find out which map of mine was best playable map?  Last year it listed the winning map, but I didn't see a listing this time around.  Thanks.

First off, congratulations to everyone!  39.gif  Especially my fellow custom content creators.

There's a lot of people that I need to give thanks and credit to (these aren't in much of an order):

The regulars in the BAT - Open Discussion:  I wouldn't hang around there if there was no one to hang around with.

The regulars in my thread and the Barry Sanders Project thread, and the people I PM with:  Even if the BAT - Open Discussion was overflowing with people, I still wouldn't hang around if it weren't for my friends here.  I hate to bunch you all into one group, but I don't want to forget anyone, and you all know who you are anyway.  The way this group is put in here doesn't make it seem important, but there are a lot of important people in this group.  I really have to stress that.

Those who comment on my STEX uploads, and made my nominations:  While a lot of these people I know from the previous groups, thanks needs to be given to the strangers who have supported me.

My "students":  I like teaching people stuff, and I also like the idea of having a strong productive/educational environment, and that can't happen without these people.  And of course, these people make hanging around the BAT - Open Discussion even better.

These three people are specifically important, and without any one of them, I don't think I would be BATing today.

T Wrecks:  In 2005, if he hadn't lotted and modded my BATs, I simply would have been bogged down.  He was also one of my first friends on this site.  Without him, I probably would have lost interest in custom content and Simtropolis.  And Simtropolis has influenced my decision to become and architect, and has been the source of RL friends.  So it's fair to say that he's a pivotal person.

Nofunk:  First, for being a good friend both here and in real life.  And second, for lotting and modding my buildings after T Wrecks.  With him I'm not bogged down by lotting and modding, and am free to concentrate on being bogged down by BATs.  His work and company with the Barry Sanders Project is also important, beyond the face value of his contributions.  His quality and quantity (he has twice as many BSP uploads as me) legitimizes the BSP as a team (I hope anyway!).  And all around, there's good synergy.

SimFox:  His work with 3ds Max has put many fresh breaths into BATing for me.  3ds Max (which can never be separated from SimFox) has enabled me to create higher quality BATs, and has lifted any meaningful limits on what kinds and sizes of buildings I can make.  Without him, I might have gotten bored with Gmax and BATing, without much of anything new to discover, and by being limited to small buildings.

There's more people who have helped me do my thing.  SparkyThePenguin has picked up the BSP query job, which had the BSP in a pickle.  Ardecila helped me with 3ds Max early on, and his architecturalness is a pleasure.  It's always great to talk to OdainsakerAndreas Roth has been a constant and positive force.  Wolverine has been a friend in real life and occasionally pops in on ST.  Thanks also goes to the tutorial writers, and those who taught the people who have helped me.  Thanks also goes to the staff and admins, especially MrCinatit and SkiGeek who have been open to my ideas for the BAT - Open Discussion, and for helping me get things done.

Well, I hope that's everyone!  Sorry about the long speech, but there's a l
