I really think this community is one of the greatest around! Every single post I read is either fun, clever, interesting and sometimes all at the same time. 2.gif

As an old timer, I want to thank every single staff member for their dedication on bringing in a single website all their passion, skills and kindness building this large family.

I also want to congratulate all Trixies 07 winners.

Beeing MOTM this year has already been a great moment for me... Seeing that I've also been nominated for the Trixies is a honnor... And winning one is simply awesome! 4.gif

Thank you so much!

Shifting some of the onus off of you?  Hmm?  What do you think our dear cyber mom will think when she sees this? 3.gifquote>

Hey, if you saw the spreadsheet I used to put together the code for the medals, you'd run too.  3.gifquote>

I think not.  You know I like raw code. 3.gif

Well hey, we all recognize that Cyber Mom knows best!  10.gif    -yeah, like she said, we think we got everybody but there were some team members that required cross checking.  We also spotted a couple of typos here or there in the ceremony that only Dirk can change.  But why overscrutinize and kill the joy of the event?

When we were attaching the medals it appeared that at least  approximately 35-40 new Trixies were given to first timers and at least 25 were given to members who did not have CML at all.  I don't know the totals of all of the Trixies or how many people were awarded this year or the past years, but I really believe that these additions suggest the continued growth and vitality of SimTropois!!!  10.gif  Way to go community!

Hah, MrC, looks like you might have to write up a new speech...

And well, the NHP and the NAM teams wouldn't have gotten anywhere if it wasn't for the teamwork we all put in... so, congratulations to both the NHP and the NAM team! We've come a long way as a community this year, that's for sure.

Congrats to everyone who was nominated and those who won!

And thanks for all those who nominated me! 9.gif

I was really confused by being the runner-up for "Most Valuable Simcity 4 Member", but I'm sure there's a reason I was nominated for that. 3.gif

Most in need of hip boots!!! LOL!!! I love it! 18.gif *Congrats to the other Current Event mods for that one*

Looks like I'll need to completely work on the CML list this weekend with all these new Trixie labels. 1.gif

Edit: Ah man! I love how the purple/yellow medal matches my CML. 3.gif

I'm not good at speeches.... yeah well... those who knows me will say that once in a while I can go on and on.... true, true.....

Ok then, let's give it a try.

**Looking for a place to drop the champagne glass and canape... swallowing the smoked salmon.... clearing throat.... sounds of unfolding 24 tightly scripted sheets of paper...** "I'm not really prepared for this...." murmurs in the audience "Yeah, right...."

---

Hehehe.... I can just picture the scene, truth is, I really am not prepared... AVR being there for such a long time now, I thought that new blood would prevail.

But I'll tell you this, not only am I proud to have been nominated in the first place, but even more to have win those Trixies.

Being recognized by one's peers is probably one of the most gratifying thing.

All my gratitude goes to AVR readers who made Anduin Valley success...

Folks, I really am grateful!

And we must not forget Dirk and all the admins who are maintaining this community for such a long time and never gave up, even when hard times came along. (sorry if this not good english... but you get my drift) Hats off to you people !

So, before Eddie (Special Eddie that is...) accuse me of pulling a Halle Berry... (and don't you dare say too late! hehehe...) I'll wrap this up.

Congrats to all winners you all deserve it, congrats also to all nominees, it really is an honor being there in your company. (I should have been a politician don't you think.... NAHHHHH.....)

And even if I won that Mosaic Trixie, for which I'm very pleased BTW!

I'll tell you this.... I'll never do that again... man that was tedious work!

OK OK Eddie.... I'm finished WINK

Too all, take care... and yes... enjoy life!

-John

Well I am not sure to be serious or funny as my two awards are at completely different ends of the spectrum....

The first award "Eye Within The Storm"  has really blown me away, especially as for the last two years, that particular award has been won by SkiGeek and MrCinatit...

that sure is some esteemed company...

When I see a problem, especially when folks are getting stressed and upset - I am not the sort of guy that will "cross the road on the other side".  ...and that's all I have to say about thaaaaaat.

Now as for that other wee award...  well aw shucks guys...  me funny?

*Does best John MacInroe impression...*

"YOU CAN NOT BE SER - I - OUS!"

... but then of course there is a time to laugh and a time to be serious...

Apparently, I have learned the difference. 47.gif

I was also really surprised and humbled to see how many nominations I got for other catergories - it is really nice to be appreciated!

Grateful thanks to all who nominated me, both for my awards and also all the other catergories.

Warmest greeting from the antipodies!

I don't think I've ever laughed so much once opening the "Best Looking Organic Product" award! I wasn't expecting to see that. But I'm grateful and thank-you to whoever voted me for that! And congratulations to all those who won awards and to all the nominees too! It's been a fantastic year! Now, if you'll excuse me, I need to go and have a facial and get my hair fluffed up a bit! 18.gif

Thank you so very much for the totally surprising Trixie for Loyal Lurker! :-) It IS true that I am your best fan for most all of you. I may not always comment but trust me, I have been there to see you. I came out of 'Lurker Status' once in awhile when I felt that I might not be interfering in a story too much by playing my tuba for everyone.

I am composing another "Tuba Sonata with Flames" by Hester (of course) to celebrate this Trixie. I have to hold my celebration in Schulmania as that is where I won a house which I share with Cristian! I hope I get a dance with King Titan. I have never been dancing with royalty before. :-)

Maybe one day I will have the courage to try a CJ myself. Thank you guys who surprised me with this honor. And it IS an honor. I love this site.

First I would like to thank all of the staff who help keep this site running.  Most people aren't aware of everything that goes on behind the scenes but I know how much depends on our dedicated workers who just keep on chugging.   We couldn't do it without you guys!

I'd also want to thank every who has done a CJ, BAT, Lot, map, post, or stopped by to say hi in chat.   Your contributions are greatly appreciated.

And I want to thank Dirk.   You brought us all together and, without you, we wouldn't be here.  You are a unique person in my experience and I'm proud to be your friend.

We can inspire others through witness so that one grows together in communicating. But the worst thing of all is religious proselytism, which paralyzes: “I am talking with you in order to persuade you.” No. Each person dialogues, starting with his and her own identity. The church grows by attraction, not proselytizing.    - Pope Francis

Congratulations to all Trixie winners and nominees! 4.gif It's great to see that the community is still vivid, almost five years after the initial release of SimCity 4, and with no end in sight. RL kept me busier this year than before, but I still visit ST every day, browsing through the new achievements that have been made. I'm particular happy about the Trixies for the NAM, which is truly the most important custom creation that has ever been made, and I'm glad that I was able to contribute my share as well. Also, I want to thank you for my nomination as "Most Helpful Member", whoever submitted this suggestion. 4.gif

Well, first of all, I would like to Congratulate the Staff of Simtropolis for their hard work keeping this site going.

(I've never been good at writing speeches, so forgive me about that.) All i can say is, that i wish to Congratulate every Trixie winner, and thank you for everyone, the community of Simtropolis. I never would've thought, that i would get a Trixie for the chat thread, and i wish to thank everyone, who nominated me. But in the mean time, i've prepared a huge Llama shaped Dobos Torte on the other side of the room for your enjoyement. J
