Due the site politics of Simtropolis I do not longer agree with the mentality that the site admins drive. 

I have a right for free speak and do not let me forbid to say my opinion - also not about the new upcoming Simcity game. 

My downloads have been locked and will move to another site in the evening. The most modders now meet mainly on other places too and publish their releases there. Simtropolis also is not more the homeplace of the NAM. Future releases will possibly not distributed here.

Oh good grief.  Maybe you didn't see the chat session that got all of that started, but we asked people to be polite about it.  If you thought the game was going to suck, ok, but there wasn't any compelling reason why anyone needs to tell anyone that except to say that you don't think it will be any good.  Frankly, I'm not optimistic about it either, but that's beside the point.   Also, this is the internet.  Truly free speech don't really exist.  Not here, not at SC4 Devotion, not on most any website.  Why do you think most web-communities have moderators?

Just to be reiterate what the policy is regarding comments about the new game - no one is saying you can't criticize the game itself, as long as you do so in a civil discussion. What is forbidden is threatening, slanderous, or rude comments about the game's developer. Of course you are welcome to talk about the pros and cons of the new game itself - that's what the SCS discussion forum was created for!

I am always sorry to see a respected member of the community drop out.  It is unfortunate that you cannot resolve your differences here.  The past weeks have been heated around here, and you have every right to leave if you feel you have been mistreated.

However, I do not agree with the "I am taking my ball and leaving" mentality.  You have uploaded things here to share with the community, not the administration.  I feel that this is punishing the fans for something they had nothing to with.  Feel free to upload new things wherever you want, but why take your older stuff with you?

ST used to be the place to go for greatness. Now it is a place of whiners and complainers. Most of the best content creators are gone.

Why is this?

Its not only because creators are "running" from complainers. Its mostly because the "staff" who are here to preserve and protect the community are not doing thier job.

The "staff" is allowing creators to be vocally abused and given no respect by the people who use their creations.

The "staff" is then banning some of those creators who get fed up and then yell back at the complainer who said worse before the creator lashed back.

The "staff" is making double standards, and protecting the complainer and condemning the creator.

Without the creators of our custom content there is no community. So who is more important to protect? The complainer who doesnt do anything for the game but take away; or the creator the one who spends thier free time to add to our game?

It doesnt make sense that the "staff" would push people away in the fashion they do and then say good riddance when there is noone left. There is only a tiny few of custom content creators left here, other sites are growing in numbers because of this.

Teams like BSC, NAM, NHP have all been pushed away from this site because of the disrespect for the creators. Soon, this site will have noone left to add to the game. It will just become a place to talk about and complain about things, nothing new released will be "quality". And maybe before that happens totally the ST "staff" should take a minute and think about what is more important.

Complainers or Creators?

My thought is that they will choose the complainers and I will be banned soon for this post. But, I have to say I support Goaskin in his move and hope that he will become an integral part of another site. I know he can! Good luck!

I will now go back to the place where creators are protected from the flaming of complainers and given the respect they deserve. Because in that place, the creators are the ones in charge, not the complainers.

Hopefully one day we'll realize this is just a GAME and that the constant bickering over where files are to be located, the new game, blah blah, is all pointless. I'm not saying there's no point to argue over the new game, but guys, it's a game, and we have lives outside of this dwelling (i hope).

I think most of us are about through with this. I personally don't care wherever the hell the new NAM is put, as long as it is open to everyone in the SC4 Community to use.

The only one of those teams that has produced anything of real value in the last 6 months in HKABT.  BLaMs seem to produce a bunch of counterfeits and NDEX is dead, tonkso just won't admit it.  As for the other two, who?

Compare the STEX content now with what it was 6 months ago.  Simtropolis is dying, haemorraging talent and reputation.  

As for the Simtropolis 1000 project, so deftly hijacked by BLaM and it's leader, good luck because you will need it.  On that note, I hope the team realises that they cannot under any circumstances using existing SC4 content, as the file formats are proprietory and are the IP of EA.  So not only are they going to have to create the simulator, but the entire content from the ground up (literally).  The concept behind cities and regions also remains the copyright of EA by the way.

If you really knew who it was... you'd realize he/she cannot post in his/her "main account" because they were banned for the same reasons I stated above.  I know your name had nothing to do with the creation of hte account.  So you dont have to worry about an imitator.

@Patriots  ST has taken the development bed away from creators by not protecting them from flamers.  So the creators are forced to go elsewhere, where they are protected.  The NAM is not the property of ST it is the property of their creators and its a gift.  If you are willing to disrespect its creators then you are disrespecting the NAM itself, and then you dont deserve it if you dont respect it.  Its the same with everything else here from BATs to Mods.
