nice recreation!I'm a tad confused though. Dubai has like 2 million people doesn't it? There seems to also be a progression, so are the top region shots early and the bottom pics later? At any rate looking good!

Looks like you have put a lot of work into recreating a very interesting and sprawling city. It's very well done, from what I have seen from images of this city since I haven't been there my self. My dad was there before the whole boom started though, he said it was very dirty back then, looks like it's become somewhat better 4.gif

VERY flat though, but then again it IS in a desert area.

take care,

I aprecciate all your posts 2.gif

@Giligone: I focused mainly in the aspect of the city, it is for that reason perhaps that the population is so low. Also I occur to account of that lack some zones in construction around, but I did not find photos in the present of those zones.

Looking good. But being a port geek I'd like to take a closer look at Port Rashid and Jebel Ali. They don't look very accurate form afar, but I could be wrong. Show close up please!

Overall it looks like an amazing effort though.

great idea.

like the look of it. of course plenty to do here to complete it.

one suggestion: give the jumeirah a revisitation. looks kinda wrong to me, compared to recent sattelites.

anyway, great work! waiting for more

Hey...nice Dubai! 2.gif

Best Dubai recreation I've ever seen. It's amazing how you've captured that avenue where the skyscrapers are accumulated (Refrigerator Row, I think). You've also made a massive building site that though not appealing, is extremely realistic.

Great use of KS's stuff.

Hmm...You also stated that you've "finished" Dubai? Haha! You're gonna have to keep up with the construction in the city because that Middle-Eastern oasis is bound to expand!

See ya.

Looks really cool, but you need to work on your growable buildings. You have a very impressive skyline of ploppables, but after them it drops off to low wealth, 2 story stores and houses. If you get a better transition with more high wealth people in your real city areas, this will be a really fantastic journal.

Ok, i'll respond to some people:

@GreekMan: you'll have to wait a lot of time till i make San Diego, because i'm making 4 cities right now (one of them, the next one, Hong Kong)

@SpecialEddie: heh! actually i said Finished Dubai because it was hard and finally the work is done.

@Skram: it would be great if you tell me in which picture is that building.

As a few people said, i had a problem with the Palm Islands, and with the looking of the city itself... Anyway, i'll post more pictures soon.

Can't say if that is really realistic Dubai - never been there. But still a great city with Dubai landmarks. Keep up the good work!

The effort looks good here, but I do agree with what Mayor Tim said about the transition from downtown to suburban sprawl.

Ive thought about doing this in quite some time. Good work but it can get even better. The palmisland should be bigger and the irl distance between Deira and jumeirah - marina is like 20-30km. Anyhow great concept!
