kj3400: Thank you! It's taken a long time to bring Nyhaven up to this size, and I'm nowhere near being done yet.

TekindusT: Thanks, my friend! Your suggestion is a good one; I'll have to dedicate an update to building a bridge in that area once we've returned to the engineering storyline. I only wish I could put a diagonal bridge there...

froelich131: Welcome to Nyhaven, and thank you very much for your compliments! I'm honored that you took the time to read through the whole CJ. I hope my future updates turn out just as well as they have so far!

Mayorm: Thanks! For SC4, Nyhaven is definitely huge, but it's been loads of fun building it up to this size. Only time will tell if your prediction about the northern airport comes true...

GreekMan: Thank you very much, Chris! I too am not all that happy with the building repetition south of downtown; perhaps I'll get rid of that lot and try to get different buildings to grow in its place. Thanks again on the Trixie - I'm sure you played a part in helping me win it! Take care, my friend!

StanislavSoltys: Thanks! As of when I took that picture, the total regional population was 4,083,593. However, in the past couple of days, I've added considerably to the suburbs of Kendall (just a short distance west of Nyhaven), and now the population is up over 4.2 million.

830point35: Welcome, and thank you! I'll see about getting a transit region view online; I'll have to photoshop the RHWs in, though, in order for it to be complete.

    TmiguelT: Thanks!

Aldini10: I use CP's Olympic terrain mod, together with rivit's Coastal Mod 2009. Thanks for commenting, and for your compliments!

Continuing with my extra specials for OSITM, here's something I haven't shown in this MD before:

    kendall14.jpg

This is Du Loup Square, in the inner city of Kendall. Previously, only my AIN allies had seen it, but now I'm sharing it with all of you. The square is named after the family of the first king of Lower Columbia, the nation that Kendall is the capital of (and where Nyhaven is located).

That is a nice looking square! Is it really that big?! That's how big ErwinNegentig's city was on a large city tile with no neighbors! Linkie

Solopop: Thank you, and welcome to Nyhaven!

ZGMF - X88S: Welcome to you too, and thanks for commenting!

TekindusT: Thank you, my friend! The pencil tower is unfortunate, yes; I just might uninstall them to keep them from messing up my rowhouse neighborhoods.

Mayorm: Thanks! I have plenty more of Kendall to show, so you'll actually get to see more of it soon.

StanislavSoltys: Thank you! Yes, the region really is that big. That video was interesting, but cramming as many people into a single quad as possible without regard for realism has never been my style. To each his own, I suppose...

    Benedict: Thanks, Ben!

Last month's release of RHW 4.0 (and its subsequent patches) has allowed me to finally upgrade some of the highways I built in previous updates to the width I had originally meant them to be, now that it's possible to build diagonal RHW-6Cs. One of those highways is the R-148, Nyhaven's outer beltway. I originally built this highway as a RHW-4 with a one-cell median, but now, I'm busily upgrading it to a RHW-6C. Here's one stretch of the highway as it passes through the suburb of Wilshire Valley, which I recently expanded:

    special47f.jpg

    special47g.jpg

    special47h.jpg

This is only the beginning of the fun I'll have with the RHW 4.x series of releases, I'm sure. Knowing what the NAM Team plans to release down the road (pardon the pun), I'm certain I'll be spending plenty more time playing around with the RHW mod in the coming months!

Whoa nice mosaic, lately i have also been dabling in the art of RHW, maybe in a few months I'll start using the new version. Also your exit at the bottom where people cross over to left is being constructed near me! I'm never going to use that exit now.

That expanded highway looks great, though it appears that one whole side of the highway is completely empty. I guess nobody needed to go that way.

You're defying the rules of the road with that underpass! People go from driving on the right, to the left! Blasphemy!

    Nice stretch of freeway. 9.gif

Benedict #1: They sure do. I'm sure I'd be at least a little weirded out if I drove through one of those interchanges. Thanks for commenting!

TekindusT: Thank you, my friend! I simply couldn't pass up the opportunity to do a special on my use of the RHW 4.0, so I'm glad you liked it so much. The DDI is a great new puzzle piece; I just had to use it somewhere (same withthe SPUI piece, although I haven't yet shown you the SPUI I've built). As for FARHW-6C pieces, I'm sure it's only a matter of time until they're made.

TmiguelT: Thanks! Yes, I've greatly enjoyed getting to know all the new features in RHW 4.0. The CC that's visible in that mosaic isn't new to my plugins folder, although it might not have been shown here before.

Mayorm: Thank you! I encourage you to bet acquainted with RHW 4.0 as soon as you can; it's terrific! Not only are the textures better and the special new puzzle pieces outstanding, the new Draggable Ramp Interfaces make building interchanges so much easier than before.

Bigbuilder: Thanks! Yes, it seems that my residents in Wilshire Valley don't want to take the R-148 northbound side. That could be because the R-148's interchange with the R-48 (which leads into Nyhaven's inner city) isn't finished yet; it's supposed to be a stack, and it'll be a while before RHW 5.0 is released with the new multi-height RHW networks needed to complete that stack.

StanislavSoltys: Thank you! The puzzle piece you can see in the bottom of the mosaic is the new Diverging Diamond Interchange puzzle piece, which became available when RHW 4.0 was released. You'll need to plop two of them to make a complete DDI, though.

Archean: It really is a strange interchange type, isn't it? Thanks for your compliments!

Benedict #2: Thank you so much! I guess the formula worked in my favor last week...

Not long after my big proposal to Jane, some of my office buddies took it upon themselves to toast me after work.

    upd43img1.jpg

We went to one of the more upscale bars in downtown Nyhaven. It was a great night, and I was so honored to have my friends congratulate me like this.

    upd43img2.jpg

It wasn't long before Jane and I started looking at places to hold the wedding, which we had set for sometime in May 1975. First, we looked at a local church in Midtown, not far from our respective apartments. We both agreed that there were better venues out there, so we moved on.

    upd43img3.jpg

Next, we looked at a large church near where I grew up, and where my parents still had connections with the staff. It was a lovely place, but there were no hotels or other places nearby where we could have the reception, so we had to keep looking elsewhere.

    upd43img4.jpg

Finally, we came to one of the oldest churches in Nyhaven, located downtown. Not only was it a beautiful and picturesque place for the ceremony, it was also close to downtown's many hotels. We knew we had found the best location, so we went ahead and booked it.

    upd43img5.jpg

Now it was time to find a place to hold the reception. It wasn't too hard to do, since we were already downtown. We ended up choosing one of the conference rooms at the Waldorf Nyhaven Hotel, one of the older and nicer hotels in the city.

    upd43img6.jpg

As the big day drew closer, we started getting the details ready. First, we bought the invitations at a nice stationery shop near Ridgeland Park.

    upd43img7.jpg

A bit later, I found a tuxedo to buy at a shop near my apartment. It wasn't cheap, but it was definitely worth the cost.

    upd43img8.jpg

Meanwhile, Jane went to a department store in Midtown to buy her wedding dress. I didn't see it until the wedding, of course, but I had heard good things about it from our mutual friends.

    upd43img9.jpg

Finally, on May 16, 1975 the time had almost come. It was the eve of the wedding day, and so my friends once again took it upon themselves to treat me to a bachelor party in Theaterland.

    upd43img10.jpg

The next day, I showed up at the church downtown and got ready for the ceremony. As it started, when Jane came down the aisle, I was stunned. She was beautiful, as always, but in that dress, she looked absolutely heavenly! The ceremony went on, and at the end of it all, we were pronounced husband and wife. My dreams had come true!

    upd43img11.jpg

Soon afterwards, we led the way over to the Waldorf Nyhaven and started the reception. It was loads of fun, and we were there until after dark enjoying ourselves and receiving our guests' congratulations and well-wishes.

8.gif its so beautiful. I'm so happy for them, and don't worry my toaster is being sent by UPS.

Now the simcity comment: I love the downtown area, looks like that church broadcasts its morning mass lol. And do I see a mini golf in your Ridgeland park picture 42.gif

also congrats on being number 1 in the top ten!

That looks fantastic. I've got to say, though, that the church is hard to spot in the picture.

Yea! Woohoo! Congrats! That was great! Thanks for telling me about the crossroads, I recently (a week ago) downloaded the RHW 4.0. By the way, what downloads did you use for Ridgleand Park?

Mayorm: Thank you very much! I'll make sure your toaster finds its way to the newlyweds 4.gif That church doesn't own the TV studio next door, but it is an amusing juxtaposition 9.gif And yes, there is a mini-golf course in that small commercial district - I think it's one of SimGoober's creations.

crushedcar: Thanks! I've already gone back into central Nyhaven and tried to make the church more visible (replaced it with a larger church, removed the hotel next to it, replaced the Maxis CS$$$ towers across the street with a CO$$$ midrise) - you'll get to see the newly-remodeled area soon.

ComputerGuy890100: Thank you for your compliments, as well as your congratulations!

TmiguelT: Thanks a lot, my friend! This is pretty much the end of the bachelor series of updates - now we move on to raising a family.

GreekMan: That's right, Chris - I'm taking your advice before continuing with the storyline. Thank you for your kind words, and your suggestion via PM!

TekindusT: The church is bigger now (as I told crushedcar), but I'm sure the ceremony was still private. You may be right about Little Manhattan... 2.gif Thanks for commenting, my friend!

StanislavSoltys: Thank you! You're most welcome about the DDI; I'm dure you'll really enjoy all the new features in RHW 4.0. As for Ridgeland Park, the lots and their overlay textures are all my own creations (except for a couple of textures), but I used props from BATters like CP, SG and vester to create the floral gardens and the woods.

I know some of you wanted to see more of Kendall, so here's a new picture from its suburbs, which I've been working on quite a bit lately:

    special48.jpg

This is the Kendall Sports Center on Camden Island, to the west of central Kendall. This complex is home to all of Kendall's sporting venues, with a baseball park, an American football stadium, and two indoor arenas. The complex is served by the young Kendall Subway system, with direct access to and from the city center.
