How can either Chicago and Montreal be a First City for the world it they're not even the First City in their own respective countries???

For the record, my first choice would have to be New York, but only if they separated from the United States (which has been suggested occasionally throughout the years). After that, either London or Paris.

I would personally prefer the capital to be broken up so that one or more capital is located on each continent or so. [in that case, maybe New York, Rio de Janeiro, Geneva, Cairo, Mumbai, Kuala Lumpur and Seoul] But in the spirit in the thread...

Hong Kong - A marvelous city of trade and commerce, not located in US or EU, kind of Chinese but still different, located roughly in between Japan, India, and Indonesia.

Istanbul, Athens, or Kiev - Located at the crossroads of Africa-Eurasia, cities steeped in historical signifigance but relatively less influential today. Kiev is less ideal than Athens, and Athens less than Istanbul each former example being further away from the centre of Africa-Eurasia.

In the Ancient Age: Rome/China's Capital (I know it wasn't Beijing)

Middle Ages: Constantinople (Istanbul)

Imperial Age: London

Modern: IDK...Its between Hong Kong/NYC/Tokyo/Singapore/London.

it cant be new york for a few reasons.

1) new yorks a great city and should be the capitol of america. unfortuantly its not. its not even the capitol of new york. if a city cant handle one state, it definetely cant handle the world.

2) the yankees play there. until the New York Yankees leave New York and they demolish Yankees stadium, New York cant be the capitol of the world lol.

How about this: The Capitol for the Executive Branch (like the world President's residence and all that) would be in North America (like New York), the capital for the judicial branch be in Asia (Like Hong Kong or Tokyo) and the Legislative Branch (one representative per nation) be in Europe, like London! Now, isn't that nice and fair? Every 50 years the other 3 continents get the capitols, so South America, Australia, and African get the three branches!

If I have to pick ONE city, I'd choose New York only because half the people here have chosen it. My second choice would be Tokyo or London.

To be honest I wouldn't say any of the places you've listed any of you - they all have massive problems that go amiss and every big city has large crime levels (no matter what the police say or anyone else) And so I would pick some place very unimportant not anywhere popular as thats not a capital thats just a pointless place to live.

New York has far to many proble3ms to sort out beofre it can achieve anhything worthwhile and exactly the same with London, Tokyo is completely full up and so is pointless in deseving this title. Hong Kong is a nice place but to compact.

India has enough porblems so really there is no place in the world thats deserves the title. Every place has problems and will always have problems and the world is always going to change which means a capital of thw world would be changing every 5 minutes depending on what its leaders choose to do.

Our scoiety is based to much on main cities and not enough on the small ones that are outside New York, London and Tokyo and Paris. Those are the cities and towns that deserve to be capital not some large slums we call large cities.

We shouldn't choose the Capital of the world on an existing country or city. We should find a huge island away from the influence of businessman only trying to put money in their pockets. If the world Capital is in a wealthy city what does it change. The capital should be a vigin island in the Atlantic were we would build a huge temple like building were there would be the world senate and all around there would be the gouvernment building a bit like in Star wars.
