This may sound really basic, but I'd say that its not the type of gov't that matters (Capitalist, Socialist), but the leaders who are in the gov't. For example, the fascists of the '30s-'40s could have give authoritarians/dicatators a good name if they weren't so aggresive, un-ethical and such...but look at the U.S. gov't in the present day-I won't have to explain that.

When I saw 'Pearl of the Oreint" in your sig...I knew I would see parts of the Philippines-makes me feel almost right back at home. I've only read up to pg. 7, and I love the CJ. Im sure all Filipinos know why there are slums about in so many places. BTW, where'd you get the BATs...tell me...NOW!

...SOOOOO.....thats what the Supreme Wirdle(s) do for pleasure-no matter which personality a Wirdle has-he/she always spends at least one hour a day raiding the food stores of his/her servants...ravenous.

Now regarding one of Frank Lloyd Wright's ideas...
Cuahtemoc posted a topic in SC4 BAT & Lot Workshop
Has anyone in the SC4 community thought about the Mile High Illinois? You know, the structure concieved by Frank Lloyd Wright in the '50s whichg exceeded 1 mile in height? -
Now, I know there has been a modd by MayorRaphaelNinja, I believe that increases the desirabiltity (radii) of the small park and plaza by A LOT (hence the term 'Super Park'). However, when I tried it, it didn't exactly work as planned. Now, I tried to make one of my own such parks, but I simply do not know how. My point/question is, Does anyone know where I can get a 'Super Park/Plaza'?

The Capital of the World!
Cuahtemoc replied to spacenuteskimo's topic in Architecture & Urban Planning
Manila??? I dont think so...Whether a the 'Capital of the World' depends onmany factors, ecomonmy, residential income, population (though not THAT important), etc. Anyways... In the Ancient Age: Rome/China's Capital (I know it wasn't Beijing) Middle Ages: Constantinople (Istanbul) Imperial Age: London Modern: IDK...Its between Hong Kong/NYC/Tokyo/Singapore/London. -

Ok, hands down. For some reason, when I try building the GLR, the game randomly crashes from just simply puting a piece next to a station, or just moving the drop shadow piece over another. Can someone tell me y plz? Thx.

newbie asking for your opinion on a variety of questions
Cuahtemoc replied to DW Rutledge's topic in SC4 Showcase
Originally posted by: DW Rutledge Hello. I've taken a sort of unorthodox path to Sim City 4. I began playing Sim City 3000 Unlimited in 2004 when I saw it for $10 at Best Buy. That was my first experience with any Sim City game. I've had SC4 for well over a year, but am just now getting into it. I have a few newbie related questions of your opinion, I appreciate any and all info you give me. I have read a good deal of the threads but I can't read as much as I'd like as this site is blocked at work. I guess they want me working there and not surfing simtropolis for some reason. 1. I understand a large map is 16 km squared. That's not even as big as some of the cities out there. Do you approach a large map as a county? or a single city? or something smaller? 2. Do you try to fit RCI all into 1 tile, or do you have dedicated industrial/commercial tiles? 3. What is your opinion on the best grid for downtown? I'm thinking about using a 7x7 grid, so I can have 4 3x3s plus area for a subway/bus station. 4. are the largest skyscrapers 6x6? 5. Do you use 4, 6, or 8 lane highways? it seems like that would be the most realistic approach, but i'm worried about taking up too much space on the map. these are mostly opinion questions, so no answer is wrong obviously. thanks in advance for any help you can provide me. Bobquote> 1. That Depends. If you want a huge megalopolis on a 16x16 default, fine. If you want a rural, sparse, framland region, thats fine too. It all depends on how you want and how you build your region. (I think Ive seen someone make an 11 mill. pop on an ordinary map....who knows, if you can learn about config bmp., your region could rival that of Tokyo. (Meh, I doubt someone wiith my Kind of comp can Rival China's pop.) 2. If i understand correctly, you are trying to fit all of the zones in one lot? Use them seperately (however, this can be an exception if your city is bustling with I-HT.) If you're aiming for realim, I suggest not. 3. 6x6. Check the grid tutorial CJ about it. 4. Nope, I've seen a variety of sizes, but I'd say 4x4. (People like Bixel (you do awesome work), well, defy that rule. His HK showcase has such a big lot (MetroCity HK, 6x21) Had to be divided into two lots, 6x12, and 6x9.) So, the largest, in my opinion, by the game's default, no plugins, is 4x4. (Oi, don't flame me just 'cuz im saying 4x4, like DW said, its an 'opinion' thread.) 5. I don't recommend it...(How will you put onramps on all those highways?) I'd say Two/Four avenues with many crossings will do for a main city artery/highway.) There's my two cents. -

I use rail...In meh city, it only has a Pop of 60000 or so, yet 1 tenth of that pop. uses rail. Plus, Raphaelninja's NinjaBouvlevardKiosk makes it even better!(quad-functional station, freight, passenger, bus, and subway....That would be very good for big cities, with the bussing and subway alone...)

Liek this! Good job here frndofyaweh. I wanted to ask a question about the grids...whats the ultimate comm and industrial strip?

BGans, the reason why the error occured was because u didnt choose the rpatch's directoryas C:/Program Files/Maxis/Sim City 4 or wherever SimCity 4 is located. Then again, 'Flora' can help too.
