Beautiful and impressive, and i'm amazed by your speed in completing it.

I' ve noticed that you have (although on hold) the Lee Plaza among your projects.Did you do something about it or you simply want to model it in the future?

It would be a wonderful idea, and if you would like to show something i would really appreciate it.

allez l'om: Thank you! I'm glad you like it.

jacqulina: Thanks, Jacky! I'm great now that school is over. Glad you're doing well too.

    Jasoncw: Thanks!

SimHoTToDDy: No doubt! Yeah, I'm sure the job hunt is going to take a lot of my time, but it'll be nothing compared to grad school. I'll still have more time to BAT.

    Wrightguy0: lol!

spa: Thanks! I'm almost ready to start working on the base!

Francis90b: Thank you! And yes, I have started Lee Plaza. I put it on my list thinking nobody would ever notice, but since you have, here's a preview!

    Gn_leugim: Thank you!

    Update...

In celebration of finishing graduate school, I've decided it's time for a "dig everything out of my 3ds max folder and post it" update.

I also made more progress on Carew Tower tonight. So without further ado:

    Carew Tower (badonkadonk)

    Remember the Park Shelton?

And here are three you haven't seen yet! Lee Plaza, the Kingsley Arms, and a currently unnamed warehouse:

(Sorry that last image is a big large.)

Thank you Nofunk, you've made me so happy by showing all of these previews!

You've a very nice list of projects, and be sure i will always carefully look at it.

As for Lee Plaza, it's still iconic even in it's sorry state, and it really caught me.May I ask if you plan to do a not-rundown version of it?

And good luck with your job hunt.

Looking good!  Can't wait for the releases, especially the warehouse.  Your past industrial buildings (Gratiot Motors, Allmendinger Organ) were really nice, so it's great to see another in the pipeline. 4.gif

Some really great things sitting in your folder, Kingsley Arms looks especially promising. I feel like I should recognize the warehouse, but it escapes me at the moment 3.gif

Looks like we have a lot in store for us,

Thanks everyone for the great comments!!

wolverine: I'm not sure you'll be moving before this makes it onto the STEX!

Francis90b: The version I'm making of Lee Plaza will bring back all of its grandeur! It will be an R$$$ with all of its windows and ornamentation in-tact. 1.gif

SimHoTToDDy: You shouldn't recognize the warehouse, because I made it up!

    Update...

Since everyone seems particularly enamored with the Kingsley Arms, here's some preliminary texturing work:

    King01.jpg

By the way, this building is located in Ann Arbor, Michigan and will be a BSP release. Here's some more information on it:

The Kingsley Arms Apartments was constructed in 1929. Designed by architect R. S. Gerganoff in the moorish style, this building has served as housing for many nurses and medical students due to its proximity to the University of Michigan's medical campus.

The building features orange brick, terra cotta panels, tapestry brick panels, and a grand Alhambra entrance.

Also, I'm sure that some of you might be wondering what happened to the Maccabees Building. I am working on modding it now and it should be released very soon!

3.gif I thought so. Those corner decorations look like something I have seen before though.

Textures are looking alright so far, looks a little too pink for me but it really isn't that far off from what it looks like in the pictures. Lovely brickwork on this one.

Glad you decided to pick this one up,

    -Todd

Looking forward to the Maccabee's being done, and once the Park Shelton is done, we'll only need the DIA and the Detroit Public Library to get a good start on the entire Museum district. 2.gif

That unnamed warehouse looks great - it  very much reminds me of what you used to find in the Walkerville District in Windsor - home of the Hiram Walker distillery.

Thanks everyone! I'm kind of surprised at how much you all like the Kingsley Arms. I made it in Sketchup over a year ago and just now thought to import it into 3ds max!

MCO1254: The building is on E. Kingsley in the old fourth ward. It's near the nursing school.

    Francis90b: I'm thinking I can fit it on a 1x3 for an urban version, and a 1x4 and/or 2x3 for a less dense version.

The Kingsley Arms is great...I'm always on the lookout for decent medium sized apartment buildings with a little character, and this one fits the bill.  Can't wait to see its progress; keep up the good work!

GOOD TEXTURES ARE MADE, NOT FOUND.
(I get tired of saying that in BAT threads.)

"Never keep up with the Joneses. Drag them down to your level." - Quentin Crisp
"I believe in talking behind peoples' backs. That way, they hear it more than once." - Fran Lebowitz
"Ordinary morality is for ordinary people." - Aleister Crowley

now i'm wondering how you get a so neat looking brick_texture for your Kingsley Arms. if i do a brick_texture on my buildings it gets blured and i just can't get it right!

    cheers

I haven't been around for a while, but I thought I should stop by. Nofunk, I've been looking at the last few pages of your thread, and I'm pleased to say that your projects are better than I remembered them. I really love that tiny apartment building your working on! Keep up the great work!!
