hm... guess that's an amazing building you've done.

you should definitely go for the adjoinging tower aswell, cuz otherwise, it would just be another very well modeled tower and not as impressive as it could be (imho that is)

Can't wait to see the base, and the badonkadonk, of course.

    jacqulina: Thank you, Jacky!

mightygoose: Stexual, eh? This still has a long way to go, but I'm glad you like it!

GMT: No worries, I'll definitely be modeling the adjoining tower. It just means this project will take longer than most.

Wrightguy0: I think everybody is excited to see the badonkadonk lol! Thanks!

SimHoTToDDy: Haha! Thanks, Todd! The badonkadonk will come first.

    spa: Thanks, Sam!

allez l'om: Thanks! Yeah, it is by far the tallest I've ever made.

    danielcote: Thank you!

josefmayor: Thanks bro! How are classes going for you?

    Update...

I've got just a quick update tonight: Carew Tower (the main tower) modeling is done! Here's a preview of the roof junk. By the way, in real life the highest roof is actually an observation deck, and that's why there is no roof junk on it. Do you guys think I should leave it like that, or put some junk on it anyway?

    carewrj2.jpg

Now I need to model the "badonkadonk" and then I will start texturing the building. I want to wait on texturing since both towers will share them.

Also, in BSP news, I will be uploading the Maccabees Building very soon! I just need to mod and lot it and it'll be ready.

Hope everyone is doing well! I'm finishing up my final semester of grad school right now, and should be able to BAT more regularly very soon!

I second what Francis90b said. Given your superb texturing skills, it will look nice anyway. Besides, it's not a huge surface, so the rooftop isn't likely to bore anyone. Just keep going! 4.gif

I think the observation deck would be nice. I think that would be more visually interesting than just a generic roof if you model the usual "observation-deckjunk". You could even make the LODs so that you could put a few people props up there.

I agree, and you could add some cheesy coin operated binoculars (and perhaps a gift shop selling " I *heart* Carew's badonkadonk" T-shirts) 3.gif

Thank you all for the great comments!

I think putting coin-operated binoculars and trying to fit the LODs so that I can put people props up there are both great ideas! I'd like to do both, but I'm assuming that the binoculars idea precludes me from putting people up there? (Since the LODs would have to be taller to accomodate the binoculars?)

I'll figure it out, but expect at least one of those ideas to crop up!

    Update...

I have begun work on Carew Tower's badonkadonk!

You'd have to do slightly more elaborate LODs than usual, but I don't think they would need to be very complex. Plus, you'd only make the LODs detailed around the specific binoculars which you plan to place people next to.

    Looking great! 4.gif

Hey everyone. Short and steady wins the race, right? That said, I've made a little progress on the Carew Tower addition:

    carewdonk2a.jpg

Graduate school is finally (FINALLY!) winding down for me, so I'll have lots of time to BAT soon. Of course, the job search will kick in full-time, but I still should have a lot more time than I've had.

    Hope everyone is doing well!

EDIT: Here's a fun preview of how the buildings will look together. Warning: it's a big image!

That's huge! I like this concept: on the left the tall building and on the right, the large building!!!

That's looking really great. It's going to be quite a complex when done. Can't wait to see the street level.
