Wolverine Hotel looks amazing ingame, and the Mercer Building is looking good too so far in max.

I think whats off about this building is that it seems some what bland, which honestly isnt a bad thing. Maybe add clocks Marshal Fields style to the corners of the building?

spa: I agree. I think you raise some important points on the cornice, and I'll work on that. Not sure about the ornamentation on the second floor ... I'll look at that too. Maybe I should make them a little more detailed?

Spike345: Yes, but I'll be fixing that. I haven't put any entrances on it yet.

st louis dude: What about them?

bbfan02: No parking -- this will sit on a solid block, but I will add some flora and stuff once I get it exported.

Sim shady: You're right. It certainly isn't a flashy building, but I think that's OK! The clocks are a GREAT idea!

Now here's the thing: I've been having lighting issues with the Hotel Wolverine, and as you know I've also been frustrated with the Mercer Building. I also have a serious case of ADD.

So ...

US Bank Tower, Milwaukee's tallest building?

I guess I have an advantage over most forumers, living only 90 miles southwest of Milw.

Fun fact - from the top of Chicago Spire, once it is completed, US Bank Tower will be visible (factoring in the earth's curvature).  People have done calculations to prove it.

ahh yes, I remember you talking about this one. It looks like you've gotten good progress on it too. It makes me want to work on 211 West Fort Street.

I'll send you that lighting file tonight. The last few nights I have spent working on studio projects. My personal computer has been turned off since Sunday night!

Apparently, there will be an observation deck, but it will be private. So unless you happen to know someone living in the tower, you're outta luck.

By the way, ardecila is right: the new model is the US Bank Center in Milwaukee, Wisc. And unfortunately, that's the last update you'll get on it for the next week! I'll be in Chicago working for the CTA over spring break, and 3ds is installed on my desktop at home. So no modeling for me over break!

I'll still wish you the best of luck with this new project! I'm sure you can make a better BAT than the old one on the STEX - which wasn't bad at its time, but is dated now.

They are supposed toe rip it down and turn it into a urban village of somekind with just a part of the stadium standing in the middle of it to remember that it was there

I'm baaack! Grad school kicked my butt this semester, but it's over, and I'm ready to get back to my BAT projects!

I had a number of projects going before school swallowed my life, but I will not be continuing all of them. (Gasp!) Instead, I will finish up a few, and then move on to some new projects. Here's what you will see finished:

The Hotel Wolverine:

I need to redo the night lights, but this one will be ready very soon.

The Eile Building:

I only mentioned this once previously, but this too will be finished.

Finally, the US Bank Tower will be finished. Scroll up to see a preview of it.

I don't want to break anyone's heart, but I am abandoning the Mercer Building. Maybe at some point in the future I will use some of its components in a new design, but the building in its current state is unsalvageable.

The Eile Building is looking fantastic. The purplish hue of the walls is right on. The cornice turned out really well too.

It makes me want to BAT so bad, but I have to finish my school work.

I copied and pasted the building into photoshop to compare it to other buildings, and it looks like the windows could be more contrasty and possibly darker overall.  The walls could also be more contrasty, and the tiles could be smaller.
