More Callingwood Developement

 

I wanted to show a few pictures of completed areas. But when I looked around there was so many gaps in the Callingwood area I took just a couple close in shots of some farms. The Farms are done very accuratly and when they are done on a larger scale in that area I will release larger photos with Satellite pictures for comparison. Even the way the trees are placed and small ponds are layed out are measured. When areas fill in more in the Callingwood area I'll have many more pictures.

To help speed up the CJ alot! I need a mod that will increase R$$ demand. As I said before Edmonton is 90% R$$ and my demand has bottomed out. In any other region I can solve this but when you are doing an exsisting city you can't just place what you need where you want to help demands at times.

Hi JerseyDevil! I just came by to see what progress you have made to Edmonton...it's really nice that you have done so much throughout the past year. The timeline definitely shows all the hard work you have put into your CJ. *Hmm...I never knew that Edmonton gained a population of over 1 million in just 100 years...interesting* Well, I sure hope someone will come along and help you create the CN tower and perhaps the West Edmonton Mall...it would be really neat. By the way, I really like the way that all the small roads now show up in the region view...greyveil really did a good job on that. The region view looks so much nicer and detailed with all the roads showing up now...Well, I'll be sure to check back again

Just a look at recent growth of roads around the West End of the City. If you are wondering what that huge with thing is....thats West Edmonton Mall in the shape of the building. Also this is another preview of teh Traffic Mod I put out on STEX.

I remember when this CJ was just starting, and I thought it couldn't make it. You paid so much attention to detail that I thought you would just lose patience and give up (As I'm sure you know that I do sometimes, maybe in website building ), but you've kept going. The first sentence in this CJ was I'm making Edmonton to an exact scale over the next few years, and you've kept that true.

Great job, keep up the good work. I can't come up with any constructive criticism for this one. This will be pretty amazing once the finished product is out.

Havent had a chance to comment on this CJ in awhile, or any for that matter.
Looks like the paving the whole city is nearing completion.

I'm wondering how long until old strathcona gets development.
I wonder how well whyte ave will come out.
Shouldnt be too hard to get all the zoning done in that area as its pretty much standard grid inner core streets and avenues.
Would be great to see this area when you have it all zoned and stuff.

January 23rd Update

I've been doing alot of work along Anthony Henday Drive which is the West part of Edmontons developing ring road. Also just west of West Edmonton Mall threw to the city limits. A few new housing areas and farms populate this area. Here are a few pictures of the road network in that area of Edmonton.

I really like the transportation map mod very much, but I was wondering whether you have a mod for showing the zone colors on the map too, or if you are adding them manually in the picture.

By the way, I like the way that you develop the farmland, it looks very interesting to say the least. The way you play around with grass lots and trees intermixing those with farmland gives a very realistic look.

Not to rain on your parade Canadianhockeyfreak. But there is a CN Tower in Edmonton. It is downtown. Look at some pictures of the one on the side on the page it has been dedicated to. (find in Contents) Just wanted to point that out. Also great job Dan the farms look spectacular!

The CN Tower - Edmonton

Built in 1966 and at the time Edmonton's tallest building. The CN Tower is now the 10th tallest building in Edmonton at 111m/364ft. Also at one time the tallest building in the world to have CN as its name. Not the best looking building but anyone from Edmonton has a special place for this in there heart as a local landmark.
