Sherwood Park is east of the city of Edmonton, I believe TJDs recreation will only cover to meridian st < 1 st NW > in the east, and the start of Sherwood Park would be about another 10 blocks  or so east of meridian street.

seas : Edmonton* only has one downtown nearly dead center in the city. Stretching to the west of the Commercial Center of downtown is dozens of highrise appartment buildings. Edmonton has 225 Skyscrapers which is alot for any city of 1million.

You CJ and your city is truly an inspiration!

How do you do those full region views? Is it just mosaic of screen images or do you use a special program?

    Keep up the good work!

Again I want to thank everyone who follows this City Journal and takes the time to view it and reply. With everyones interest it is easy to push for the extra effort in detail. I have alot of pride in Edmonton and to be able to show it to such a wide spectrum of people around the globe makes this at times more then just a side hobby.

Hey TJD, I suggest hosting your pictures at imageshack.us .  That's what I do and the reason we can't see your earlier pics is because Simtropolis only has so much bandwidth and you're really taking up some especially with your table of contents and page banners.  So that's my suggestion, it's really easy.

    BTW, YOUR REGION IS AWESOME!!!

    Full Size Region Views

Finally I have 3 region views in there full size. Now you can see much more detail and the full spectrum of this region. If this update goes well I should have many more large Image updates in the future.

I really like those full size region pics, but the last one is a bit unclear. You should have used black letters.
But after 34 pages this region is still alife and kicking!!!

London_Wyverns : Yeah....I noticed that too. But with Region Census there is an option to place all the ingame names. And like the game they are the same color. That would take forever to put down all the names by hand. But I may do an update soon showing the main areas of Edmonton and divide them up somehow.

    TJD!

I'm quite new to ST - lurking around nearly 3 months - and also don't comment most CJs to not break the storyline. I'll break this rule for the 2nd (!) time now *seight*:

I'm familiar to SC since it's initial release and have seen as many CJs by now. But rarely I saw such an aproach! Congrats! Congrats to your Trixie and to your 1000th reply! You very well derserve it!

I like your kind of playing this game - not aiming on population and skyscrapers but doing a visual replica of your hometown.

Keep up! As long as you can bring up the patience and the amount of time this kind of playing will take up.

    kindly
    ~bean~

Great TJD. You can still have the images in the reply box by using that image button and linking it up to imageshack. When I play my region it seems so big!!! and a long straight road seems out of place, but in reality a straight road in a city can go for 3 or 4 of the big blocks! LOVE IT!

Newyorkrunnaway: I didn't double post or anything. I came back later and added a request, THREE HOURS later.

TJD: Can you post close up views of those freeway interchanges they look interesting.

i love edmenton, even though i have never been there.  Sorry i posted two posts in a row, i dont want to be a spammer.  TJD, are you ever going to quit this region, i would like to see it even go to 2000 posts, and maybe even past that.  It is part of ST history.

Iknowu : I don't fish in the North Saskatchewan River. Actually few do. It's not the best fishing river. For most cities its a very clean body of water but still it's only recomended that you eat one fish per month from the river. The River starts a few hundred Km to the west in the Rocky Mountains and work its way to the Hudson Bay.

seas123 : This recreation will probably out live Simtropolis. I'm not one to quit at anything in life. Anyone in chat could probably tell you that. I'm stuburn and like things done correct. I just hope Simtropolis is around in 18months when this city should be getting finished. Who knows maybe sooner. I don't mean any offence to the site, but for many games grow old. And when they do the sites that are up for them some times shut down. Simtropolis is a heavy site to run. I really hope things continue to go well in the future. I would still play Edmonton without it...but I would lose alot of the enjoyment I get out of it without being able to show it.

1.gifhopefully simtropolis will always be here, as long as there is Simcity.  when Simcity 5 does come out though, i am sure Derk will start updating and Simcity 4 will be nothing but old news, but hey, then a new Edmonton will emerge looking better and more beautiful then ever.19.gif
