In the 2 examples, part of the mesh frame sits outside the wall, and the vertical parts sit inside the way, at least that is out it appears in the photo reference. I have found (using generic units) that a thickness of .25 is sufficient to show depth/shadow in the a Maxis export, .125 is cutting it pretty close, and usually does not cast enough shadow to create depth. In a non Maxis export model parts probably wouldn't be so exaggerated. For instance all my models have a frame width of .25 - either inset into the wall or extruding from the wall at about .25. I tried .125 once - but it almost looks too flat. However I agree, if you have a building model with .25 frames and you are not exporting to Maxis it looks very exaggerated and cartoony.

This probably the most boring side of a building I have ever seen...however the other side is really cool. BTW, to Surumi the length of this build is 21 tiles. Thats very very long. I am sill considering splitting it halfway because of this.

Where is that tenement? I need more stuff of that size... I could always lot one of these things for you. I have some skill (well maybe not skill but I take the time to get all the details right) with the lot editor. I'm not that reliable though. (AP classes, other junk, etc.) And did you ever consider releasing single towers? Would probably appeal to an even wider audience.

jesselong: Well I looked at Locwood Court, got the floor design and the main plan to the lot layout. However its crescent style planning creates huge SC4 lots. Since SC4 Lots are always some sort of rectangle...I may do 3 towers for Locwood, and maybe some of the facility buildings that go with it, but no promises.

The problem is that when I look at my plugins folder, what's missing most these days is medium-size apartment blocks and Chi+NY style buildings. By now we got tons of rowhouses, tons of single-family homes and mansions, tons of modernist skyscrapers, and thanks to you, masses of modern residential highrises. I think I need to pick a nice, mediocre German apartment block.
