Well....here we go again guys. Its official...and to celebrate this new thread I might as well give you a teaser.

[edit]

dscn7286bp2.jpg

Yup, you guessed it its Chelsea Court! Located next to the Nina Tower.

Just to let you know...a very of the Sorrento has been sent to Simfox for rendering...lets just wait and be patient for the pictures and decide if we need more RL additions to the building. As of the moment I have put Sorrento on hold until these new renders come out.

Hey bixel....there is no picture showing in your post...even when I try and quote it  (which is how us IE users must view PNGs) but there isnt even any picture coding in your post....

I am interested in seeing the teaser because you sure do some find Bat'ing work.

Looking good Bixel. I use most of your creations, and love having them pop up here and there. Great to see a new model is on its way. Can't wait...

So...Its looking pretty good...I might need some texture work...but I just can't decide the colorscheme...I think is pretty close

    ccdemo1ox6.jpg

    20051215tsuenwan10600ex4.jpg

Now I know I might hear some complaining about how clean it is..and where is the wear and tear? Well...look at the photo..its pretty darn clean..also Chinese concrete is now highly specialized and the most advanced in the world...the paint they apply to the concrete bonds to it..so before you start whining about why the textures look so lego-y it is because THEY ARE. I just want input on the color scheme or an improvement on the textures themselves.

Wow, bixel, are you a human or a machine that is programmed to make buildings? That looks amazing. The only thing I can suggest so far is that the windows themselves have a bit more of an interesting pattern to reflect... the last pic you posted show other buildings and clouds... so they are very reflective indeed...

Are you planning to make another 57x23 lot with seventeen of these towers? 3.gif I'm asking because the photo shows at least two towers, but the BAT you showed in the last preview pic would look nice as a standalone building, too. 2.gif

Oh...yeah the windows. The windows should be interesting...I got some questions about those...notice the Sorrento....its new..but it is also occupied we got window draperies and all kinds of funky colors...this one...hrmm Is it occupied? I can't tell. Should I do a motely choice of colors like the Sorrento? or do something more...reflective like..sleek. Will I release this as a stand alone. Srry T Wrecks, not this one. There are plenty of buildings to do as stand alones...check here. http://skyscrapercity.com/showthread.php?t=301516&page=1

The principal reason why the building is very clean, is because it is very new. Also Chinese concrete becomes dirty after some time3.gif. Some dust on the roof should not hurt us. Your color design is very good according to my opinion.

     Great work!

For the Sorrento... here you go, bixel...

    kingiw3.gif

    tinxu6.gif

    poonqr4.gif

    daoqh5.gif

And for the colour of the Chelsea Court...

    The orange colour should be:

    R:249

    G:123

    B:95

    The green one sholud be:

    R:114

    G166

    B:165

And the colour of the windowsills:

    R:93

    G:94

    B:89

Just suggestions, and the white columns can be varied depending on the lightening. Keep the great work up!

@ jesselong Wow gorgeous gifs, I will set them to use right away. Just to warn you thouhg...the characters may not be readable...at the scale of relation to the rest of the building. Would you be happy instead if I created a nice sign with the English and Chinese Characters on it so that both are visable. T Wrecks can then use it as a prop in the scene, but if you are really sore for it to be attached to thebuilding..I can probably do that, but you will have to convince SimFox of another render. Also thanks for the color change on the Chelsea...I will present another render for comparison, thanks for your input.

@ Simfox I was thinking of adding some specular level to the colored textures, do you think this might give us a shiny look at certain angles?

@ ENDOPHINS You are fast becoming very dependable! Your new pictures help alot, I see new levels of detail in the building, and I see now that the white is really not white but a soft tan color, very nice.

@ jacqulina Thankyou for checking out these forums...we got our regulars but it is hard to tell just who sees us. Thanks!

    Bixel!!
    You read my mind!
Another thing to play with is raytraced reflections but not 100% ones as in mirrors or polished metals, but Fresnel ones - dependant on viewing angle like in water and many polished stones etc.

OK...here is a new render with Jesselong's new RGB settings and some new texturing

    ccdemo2bg3.jpgtwrecksbr9.jpg

btw how do you post a link?

@ T Wrecks: You mentioned that you would like one of the tower single and I said No! Hehehe, well I decided to give you one. Its a little shorter, but it is all yours (The Blue One). There are 4 colors there, tell me what you want for the color scheme and its yours.

@ Simfox: So a simple increase in specular level will work? OR...what is this Fresnel?

As long as you like, bixel... I have worried that if the gifs are too small for the building... Just everything base on the real and those HK fans would be freaky happy! And on the colour scheme, I just took with tools of the pictures and took the average one.

Looks awesome Bixel. I love it. Can't wait to see this one released. Great work/play.

And, a link? Well, click the reply button, and when the screen comes up, write what ever you want the link to say. Then highlight the word, or words, and press the "insert hyperlink" button (it has a little blue-green globe pic on it). Then…
Find the page you want to link to and copy the address and then paste it into the small screen that pops up when you click the "insert hyperlink" button. Press ok and your done!
If you want the link to pop up in a new window, in the "insert hyperlink" screen, go to the tab that says "target". Set the target to "New Window" and the linked page, pic, etc. will pop up in a new window. There is probably a way to do it in the quick reply box, but I always do it this way. Hope this is what you wanted to know!

Edit - thought you might find something interesting on
    this page.

@ bixel : the soft tan color is mainly due to colorcast 6.gif

    Here's some fixed ones :

, along with some new prespective 10.gif :

@ T Wreck : You guess right , the rendering is from the photo library of the Sun Hung Kai Properties website 9.gif

Woo-hooo! 39.gifActually, the reddish colour scheme of the original doesn't look bad. However, if you want to differentiate the two better, I think some yellowish colours (sand / beige) may look nice as well.

A totally different question: How big will the individual tower be? 4x2? 5x2?

Due to its location , the median price is 4.2k which is fairly low 8.gif
