Well, as the title header says, I have good news and bad news.

The bad news is that my SC4 game has mysteriously deleted itself. Well, not JUST SC4, put all files in my: D drive before the letter s. So, after a entrance exam I've been studying for since September, I went to reinstall the game. But it wouldn't cooperate. It got stuck at 5% over some song file, and I've tried everything to clean it. Specialised fluid, toothpaste, even bananas! (These were all things someone else came up with.) But to my great ire, none of these have worked.

So here's the good news. I have a $50 gift card to Best Buy, which has SC4 (I hope). So I plan to buy a new copy of the game over the weekend, and start working again immediately. But what has become of New Burgundy? Thankfully, my plugins/cities/files are safe, so all I need to do is transfer them once I get the game.

Okay, this CJ's back on track! I've rebuilding St. Laurent (for the second time), moving palaces, putting up facades, consecrating churches, etc.

Simtastico- A labour of love... And you might want to be careful with your words, republicanism is a fringe movement in New Burgundy nowadays; and the people in New Burgundy are quite free, thank you very much, don't know about those in Burgundy, but they're French, so it cant be too bad, no?

The main focus of the above image is the Avenué Royal, which connects the Royal City Palace to the Basillica of Saint Lawrence (not pictured), symbolising the unity of the Church and the New Burgundian state. 

At top is the Royal City Palace, the official residence of the King, and its extensive gardens. There have been calls to open the gardens to the public in recent years, but these have often fallen on deaf ears and when acknowledged, have been refuted on security concerns. One can easily see the three avenues that "radiate" from the Palace, (L-R) Avenué de la Legions, la Avenué Royal, and Avenué de la Bourse.

Next is St. Stephen's Church, the oldest standing Anglican Church in St. Laurent (many all older ones were pulled down on the occasion of New Burgundy's independence)

 

Nearby is the Bourse de Commerce, the St. Laurent Stock Exchange. The building has become famous for its lavish interiors, which stands in contrast to its utilitarian purpose. It is the centre of a recent (90’s) development known as the Bourse, not unlike Paris’s La Defence or London’s Canary Wharf. The towers of this development can be seen nearby, housing many world-famous banks and business institutions.

 

Lastly there is the Grandmarché (Great-Market). The market is world renowned for its awesome variety of goods, stemming from Russian samovars (used for serving tea) to Ethiopian teff flour (strong in fibre). It aligns with the Aventine Palace axis, which stops considerably short of the Grandmarché.  This is not an accident; the first structure was buil

The rebuilt St.Laurent looks really neat and realistic. The avenue is a little bit too wide for my taste. The Bourse district is great! I like the details too. Keep this quality!

The Avenue Royale sure looks triumphant! I like all the parks and cement tiles you use to enhance the end of the Avenue, sort of reminds me of getting to the end of Pennsylvania Ave at the US Capitol in Washington, DC.
