A small side-project I'm working on. The region is called Akalla (yes, like the Stockholm suburb) and it has 523.000 inhabitants at the moment.

Much agreed! Interesting layout and tons of opportunities to turn it to a master piece of urban planning... :thumb:

Also, I decided to start another region, this time with some planning in mind.. (Bear in mind that the red lines means main highways and the yellow line means railways...) I still have to gather more ideas on how to start the sprawl... (I have a backup, just in case of anything!)

In addition, this was made in two days from scratch, as I collected ideas from many other people's regions... Well worth the time and effort I must say!

Hum honestly, and that depends on the size of the city, i would consider adding more highways and railways (El Rail Monorail HSR etc.)

That's a really nice handcrafted region Artimus! I look forward to seeing what you come up with :D.

I agree with SUPERMESSI on this one and would love to see more highways in this (presumably) massive region. Looks like you could probably extend the segment on the west side towards the mouth of the river, which looks ripe for a great downtown area! That south-north auxiliary route also looks like it could be made into a full beltway, with river hugging potential and access to some of the foothill areas.

@raynev1 The region is looking promising, lots of room for more development.

This is a new region i am working on, all the development was done this evening. Loads of room for a large sprawling city. The railway lines will act as a metro for the city. The upper development is the CBD , while the lower is just one of the many small centres of development that i will use to grow the suburbs. I plan on filling the valley with development eventually.

I just hope i can stick with this region

Finally started working on actually tying Alicante together with Boswell visually. So far only the I-92W holding it together, but I think it's a good start.

First time I'll be showing a full view of my region--a miniaturized version of my fictional planet's cities and towns set in Auckland, New Zealand:

Good choice in a region, quite the diverse landscape.

Here's mine. Years of work and still a lot left to develop;

putting the finishing touches on this one

That is one sweet region right there! I like your style utilizing every bit of viable land for either developments or AG. How long have ya been working on it and what's the population on that bad boy?

While I'm here, here's my current region, been working on it for about 3 months now. I'm up to 725k sims and will probably hit between 3-6 million if don't loose track and start another region. I'm using Drunkapples Hiroshima's map with a bit of modifications to suit my vision.

I'm using Blunders most fabulous Cascadia Tree Controller.

The population of my region as it sits today is 887k, It is heavily modded but I'm "playing" more for aesthetics then anything else. I've been working on it for a few months now after my last region brought my laptop to it's knees due to it's sheer size! I'll upload a new screenshot later today after putting some final touches to several neighborhoods.

Looks like fun!

It is, I'm proud of how well it turned out so far! The farms are zone and grow generic until I return to them later to add some details to them. One thing I'm not too happy about is the amount of pastures that grew, never had that happen before but all is well. Now it's time to get the city going and work my way outwards! One good thing about getting my appendix removed is that I had a gratuitous amount of time to work on it!
