Swamper77:  awesome, thanks.  once it's in here, i'll re-render and post results.

Also my response to comments/q's from others (long overdue, sorry i've been busy to respond to everything):

jeepboy:  Thanks for the compliment and stopping by to make a comment, appreciated 4.gif  As for modding, i don't know much about it myself either as i'm just the modeller, but probably searching thru the forums to get started is good starting point..

kumba: yea, that airport taxiway underpass is definitely going to kpax 4.gif

    du peixoto rbd: thanks!

skizzik1: great ,thanks.  good to see more interest in Boston landmarks, would be interesting to see how you implement big dig in your CJ 4.gif  Good luck in your BATting project too!

nycsc4:  thanks regarding trixie;  there will be actually a different sign.  the pakkusena airport one was placed in there as temporary holder as the model is still not completed yet.

    tommiej: thanks!

sc4luv2: two-way road tunnels are currently not planned anytime soon within the context of the big dig project.  however buddybud has nicely made ones available that you can use soon.

    ryanb_sc4:  thank you 4.gif

tarkus:  Awesome, thanks for stopping by!  And congrats on yoru trixie too.  Great to see you in here, and looking forward to see more exciting development from RHW as well.

Alright, time for me to take the role of less-educated.

The .zip file I download from STEX is "corrupt or invalid", is there any other way I could acquire this or am I doing something blatantly wrong by clicking the download button?

Swamper77: good news, actually don't worry about fixing up the LOD's with removed yuccas; i've figured out the necessary changes and it looks great now, below.  I also made couple slight changes at the entrance of the ramp as well.  Let me know where to proceed from here. do you need just the .sc4model or do you also want me to send to modified .gmax file as well?

I should be able to finish the modding and pathing by Tuesday or Wednesday. Once the testing is done and the modding meets Blahdy's expections, it should be released with the other ramps that are currently in beta testing. After this ramp is done, I'm on break until early January. I will not be doing any modding of any sort during the holidays.

Okay Ramp A-CN is now released for beta testing.  Beta testers can find URL to download it the Private Threads -> Boston Central Artery/Tunnel beta forum thread.

    ATTENTION BETA TESTERS:

REMOVE/DELETE *ALL* BIG DIG 2.X BETA FILES YOU'VE DOWNLOADED TO DATE IN YOUR PLUGINS FOLDER BEFORE LAUNCHING THE INSTALLER.  THE INSTALLER WILL RE-INSTALL EVERYTHING RELEASED TO BETA TESTING SERVER TO DATE, NOT JUST THE RAMP A-CN PRODUCT.  Failure to do so may result in duplicate files in your already crowded Plugins directory, which for some of you may be very annoying.

I see the road markings are a bit messed up,and the One-way & ramp don't line up to good.

EDIT-Also the Over-head sign at the front of the On-ramp is painted woung. How?

The Yellow bar is allways at the botton of all Highway signs in the U.S.,not the top.

    1. one-way road alignment, yes they are incorrect/off-set but we may or may not fix it by the deadline depending on RL timeframe constraints.

    2. road markings are based on that of the real-world version (drive to ramp A-CN in boston).  if the real-world version has it messed up, we copy the same here and that is what you see.

    3. overhead sign, you're wrong.  please consult MUTCD before declaring what US road ways do or do not, since lot of sign marking policies can be different in many places.  You can see the real-world version's overhead sign at http://216.93.240.36/~blahdy/stex/big-dig-tunnel-portal/curved-ramps/65036147.iJa3pzW2.jpg

justintime, you are both correct, and also incorrect. The most common use of the yellow bar on a freeway sign in the States IS on the bottom, but this is usually indicating that a certain lane is 'exit only', or something to that effect depending on the region. Yellow bars for height indication, such as the sign on that tunnel entrance, however, are placed on the top. We don't see this one too often, as there aren't too many tunnels (or tunnel systems, in the case of Boston)in the United States.

    Hope this helps clarify things.

justintime: it will take some time, as the model has to be readjusted and LODs have to be re-adjusted, etc.

Just a kind note to everyone that Big Dig project will be taking a moratorium/cease on all project activities over the holiday break.   I'm looking forward to enjoy my birthday on christmas 4.gif

I consider myself lucky. My birthday is in June, so it's a nice even split between present-giving times. My mom had a freind whose birthday was on June 25, so he got more presents for his half birthday than for his birthday!

While we are still talking about birthdays, my birthday is on January 24, almost exactly one month after Christmas.

    BACK ON TOPIC

Late congrats, but Congratulations on your Trixie, Blahdy! I hope that version 2 comes out soon.

Happy Birthday and Christmas. My 21st was earlier this month, so it's been an interesting few weeks to say the least. let's just say i have a newfound respect for the Quincy Market/ Haymarket (it's a far cry from the touristy shopping district it usually is) area at night. Also, what you have looks awesome so far, i am on my way right now to download some of the Betas. i'll post you back info ASAP. in the meantime, have a Merry Christmas and happy birthday.

Another reason that this project is on hold is because I am also taking a break from SC4 modding. I'm Blahdy's primary creator of the LODs that he renders the models with and his primary modder. This project will pick back up sometime in early January. I've put in a lot of hours modding for Blahdy and other people, so I definately need a break.

Now, I'm going to go continue enjoying my 22nd birthday, which is today Dec 23rd.39.gif
