Loving the European/Spanish look with the open plazas, landscaping...etc.  Great attention to detail.  I'm new to this site...where did you find the "European Buildings"....I'm guessing from a download somewhere.  You've inspired me to get back into the game.  I'll have to check back in.

I love the look of your city. It looks so busy and it seems so real. It's not like a lot of cities I've seen on here, that are set on grids and stuff. I think how complicated it looks.

    Rivera%20Overview.JPG

Now let's discover Rivera, an older-preserved city.

    Rivera-Aug.%2029,%20041144901685.JPG

The town square is the largest in Pacalisa, and has an ancient gazebo, which was believed to be the spot where a peasant defeated a dragon (little kid's fairy tale...) St. Gabriel's Church marks the center of the old town, nearby the new trainstation.

    Rivera-Aug.%2029,%20041144901769.JPG

On August 2, 1982, a bomb was set off at the rivera train station, an act of fanatic anarchists. they bombed it because of rising tensions between several criminal groups hidden beneath Pacalisa's crust. A new train station was built, and it is today a symbol of hope. Although they bombed it, the train station rose again.

    Rivera-Aug.%2029,%20041144901740.JPG

While Alena and Rivera often debate over which city is older, (Alena was founded first, but many of the old buildings were demolished into parisian-style buildings, while in Rivera many of the old buildings exist...) one thing is for sure... the Rivera Bell Tower, dating from ancient Romans, is the oldest standing structure in Pacalisa.

    Rivera-Aug.%2029,%20041144901816.JPG

However, the city isn't as grand as it seems. Rivera has a high unemployment rate, due to most jobs being in nearby Alena. Crime is second highest, behind Alena by only a small little percent.

    Rivera-Aug.%2029,%20041144901872.JPG

St. Gabriel's Monastery is also a seminary. It is a popular tourist attraction and pilgrimage site.

    Rivera-Aug.%2029,%20041144901947.JPG

It all started with the abbey above. Today, all you can see is ruins, but before, it was a grand abbey, built in the of a small chapel.

    Rivera-Aug.%2029,%20041144901903.JPG

Today, the abbey is in this domed building. While quite small, it can still magnificify...

    Rivera-Aug.%2029,%20041144901917.JPG

Some of the ruins of the old monastery still stand, as you can see.

    Rivera-Aug.%2029,%20041144902253.JPG

Varella (not Viella), a small working-class town outside of Rivera, is not that important, but it still gives a good insight of daily life in Pacalisa.

    To be Continued...

Howdy, this has more than one update ....

Great start! I like that special atmosphere in your harour town!

And your modern areas look as boring as real life! Wonderful!

Just a little bit more rural areas and farms would be nice regarding to your region map!

    Update6.JPG

Hi peeps! Sorry for the long wait, finally I can now play my game! I've been working on my new newspaper and News Channel.

    Alena-Mar.%2024,%20091146533413.jpg

    Alena-Mar.%2024,%20091146533396.jpg

The center of the Financial District in Alena is Place de Liberté, with it's grand statue. However, just north of the plaza is the headquarters for the News Media Channel PPT.

    PPT2.JPG

Michael DeGaulle: Good Evening everyone, I'm Michael DeGaulle. Tonight we'll talk about the latest about the new leads in the case of the Rivera Train Bombings.

A mysterious man, naming himself "Shallow Neck" told government investigators that he knew something about the attack. He said "The train was meant to eliminate the tunnel, causing a collapse. I come to tell this because...oh wait...crap...no mom, I'm not on the phone! Wait wai..." They were also told that in fact the attack was not caused by anarchists, but instead by an infamous anti-Christian group known as the "Athesians." They have been known to hide in rural areas, and are often not even heard of by natives. Investigators refused to speak on televison, but told us "We praise whoever helped us find out more about this attack. However, if they were involved, we insist they come clean and also reveal their counterparts in the attack."

I hope your City Journal continues to be as great as it has been so far.
