Bus Blocker  2

About This File

These lots block bus traffic, while allowing all other forms of transportation to pass. I have always been annoyed by the game's lack of proper bus lines. Sims drive buses around like their own cars, instead of following proper lines. By blocking off side streets to bus traffic to create "bus corridors", and only placing bus stops along the corridors, you can come a step closer to a realistic bus transit grid. Included are versions for road, street, avenue and one-way. Credits to Urban Legend for the Traffic Control Pack, on which these lots are partly based.

UPDATE: I had made a very silly mistake in the first version of these lots, that would convert all the cars that entered the lot into pedestrians upon exit. This has now been fixed, and everything should now work as intended. It's very important that everyone who downloaded the first version replaces it with this updated version. I'm very sorry for the inconvenience!

Plop cost is $1 (to pay for the paint markings :) ), there's no bulldoze cost, no maintance cost, and no power or water requirements.

Interesting idea. How about one that limits freight trucks, which could be used to create truck routes. Just a thought. Good work.

deer_creeker: for the latest version on UrbanLegend's "No Trucks"-lot, you should search for the "Traffic Control Pack". It also includes HOV-lanes and a roadblock.

These are very good lots. I'm fed up with overuse of busses on main roads, maybe thats just because i use high capacity bus stops and busses usually outnumber cars on the road about 2 to 1. You should maybe consider a highway bus blocker? Good lots will be put 2 good use!

Wonderful! I can finally get fix the problem of thousands of busses clogging an intercity road whilst shunning the nearby intercity highway! Thank you!

Useful? Yes, definitely. I've been annoyed at buses taking routes though minor residential streets, those stuped bus drivers even drive into dead end streets! I'll put an end to this immediately.

This is great. This will be very useful in keeping buses from cutting though residential areas and just sticking to the main roads.

I love this idea but I would like to see this the otherway around. Can you make a lot witch stops every thing but busses? Then we can introduce real buslanes into our cities.

Well good but shouldn't it be the other way around? I've never seen a 'bus blocker' but I have seen bus gates which Im sure you know let buses and often taxis and bikes through but not cars, lorries...etc We need more bus priority things anyway. Disgraceful they forgot bus lanes...tut.

Well, I seem to have run into a bit of a snag with this. It's blocking cars as well as busses; my traffic query will show cars travel right up to the line, and then it switches to pedestrian beyond that to try to complete the trip. Not good....

Zwanneman: a lot that stops everything but buses to create HOV-lanes is already available on the STEX. Search for Urban Legend's "Traffic Control Pack".

The problem with cars being blocked and turned into pedestrians (caused by a very silly mistake on my part) has now been fixed. It's VERY IMPORTANT that everyone who downloaded the original file replaces it with this updated version!

Great idea and this is just what I needed. I also hate the buses going everywhere. Now they can stick to their routes like the real world. 10/10 for you.
