About This File

At 1,149 feet 350 metres, the Stratosphere Tower is the tallest freestanding observation tower in the United States and the tallest building west of the Mississippi River.

From the observation decks, lounge, restaurant, meeting & banquet space and private dining rooms, guests enjoy panoramic views of the Las Vegas Strip and the surrounding valley.

Thrill seekers can enjoy excitement over 100 stories above the ground on the Big Shot and X-Scream thrill rides and the High Roller roller coaster.

The tower is equipped with a special lighting system designed to provide a spectacular dancing light show nightly, which is visible throughout the Las Vegas Valley.

Thrill seekers of all ages can experience the ultimate in excitement at Stratosphere Las Vegas! At over 100 stories above the ground, the Stratosphere boasts the world's three highest thrill rides; the Big Shot, X-Scream, and the High Roller roller coaster.

The High Roller roller coaster is the world's highest roller coaster! At 909 feet above the ground, the Hight Roller rockets around the tower pod on 840 feet of track banking sharply at 32-degree angles, traveling approximately 32 miles per hour.

The Big Shot thrill ride catapults 16 riders from the 921-foot high platform up the Tower's mast to a height of 1,081 feet. Traveling at 45 miles per hour, riders experience 4G's as they reach the very top, and feel negative G's on the way down.

At 866 feet, X Scream is the world's third highest thrill ride. Shaped like a giant teeter-totter, X Scream is an open vehicle that propels riders head-first, 27 feet over the edge of the Stratosphere Tower and dangles them weightlessly above the Strip before pulling it's riders back and over again for more!

Ok i understand your new to the bat so consider these only suggestions. First off the tower needs to be alittle thinner and taller. I think you forgot to stretch it for the game. Also your texture work could be better. And the acctually croncrete structure seems off quite abit.

Pretty good job, but I agree with the texturing job comments by Joerg. I'll give you a ten to balance out a lot of the idiots around here. ;)

Well anyways, I took the detail and textures off of the real tower. If you want me to, I will make it a little thinner, but just becuase the angle makes it look different i dont konw why I have to change so many things. I'm not going to make it any taller becuase the height is perfect.

And yes, this is the same tower that came out on SimCity.com. It wasn't that popular there, well they can't see pictures of it because for some reason it wont upload the screen shots...

I hate to tell you, but this "building" does not appear in lists of the world's or United States' tallest buldings, at least not in front of the Library Tower. I believe this is because it is considered a "structure," rather than a building.

Like the CN Tower, this is no longer called a "Building" becuase it is a freestanding tower. The Canadian National Tower will not show up either if you look at the World's Tallest Building list it will say the Taipei 101.

I've been thinking of a Mandalay Bay lot and building for some time. I'm terrible with GMAX, and I can't do it! But Mandalay Bay would be so easy! It's a simple "Y" with each arm 120-degrees offset! And it's just a beautiful building!

I was thinking about building the Mandalay Bay and The Tower, I'll probably just put those two togehter in a single lot though.

100% Scale Height, line it up with the 1200ft Empire State Building if you dont believe me! *Note* The mas on the ESB is not in the structual height, it would be 1455ft if the mas is included, Stratosphere is 1149ft tall...Check it out if you dont believe me!

How about you just give up trying to convert me to your ways? No one cares what you think, I can delete your comments if I want. Why do you care if you comments get deleted?!? Shut up and leave my Stratosphere alone. Your the only one who sends, "hate mail" to it.

This is so cool! I'm glad somebody is taking care of vegas, home of the coolest buildings on earth. I'm also glad because I was born there and saw the stratusphere go up along with all the other hotels. I'm looking foward to seeing some more vegas hotels
