About This File

Due to Apple's app requirements for Catalina, this mod is irreparably broken. See this post for more info.

The files for this mod have been removed to avoid breaking SC4 installations.

Prerelease note
This mod is prerelease software and has only been tested on Steam and Mac App Store copies of SimCity 4 on Mac OS X El Capitan 10.11.6. It is recommended that you back up your regions (and, especially if using an App Store copy of SC4, your plugins folder) before using this mod.

What does this do
SC4MacInjector allows the Mac equivalent of .dll mods to be loaded on Aspyr's port of SimCity 4 for Intel Macs.

Note: you will not be able to use Windows .dll mods directly. They need to be targeted specifically for Macs as .so files.

Requirements
This mod requires an Intel Mac copy of SimCity 4 Deluxe/Rush Hour to already be installed.

Installation
Run the .pkg installer.

If you do not have a Steam or App Store copy, or if the App Store copy was moved out of /Applications, the installer will ask you to manually locate your game executable, and this can get somewhat hairy if it's a relocated App Store copy.

Well, as a  Mac user, this looks very interesting.  It maybe awhile till I can give it a whirl, but will definitely will discuss results.

This no longer seems to work with the 64-bit edition of SC4 that Aspyr released on the Mac App Store in February 2020. After installing the injector, my game crashes after the introductory video. I was forced to delete SC4 and its related files before doing a fresh reinstallation of SC4.

I'm running into the same problem as Lazarusnine. I'm unsure if Simmaster07 is still visiting this site, but if you are, I for one would love an update. :)

@nathan67003 This would still work on Mojave, it's just that (1) no version of macOS supporting Apple Silicon also supports code injection, and (2) 10.14's been unsupported for a few years now and I wouldn't endorse anyone downgrading their OS to use this mod.

Sweet! I never """upgraded""" in the first place because it'd brick half my games. There any way to get a hold of the injector now? The files have after all been removed from the download... I don't mind compiling it myself but the archived repo has no instructions on that

There are pre-compiled files/an installer + an extra cheats .so file on GitHub: Releases · nsgomez/sc4macinjector (github.com)

Barring that, you could download the source code from GitHub, get Xcode from the App Store, and open the Xcode project to build.
