About This File

This is my first building, so please be kind! I had been looking for Philadelphia buildings for some time now, and I finally got sick of not finding any, and made my own. This Comcast Center was converted from Google Sketchup into SimCity, so I DID NOT MAKE THIS!! I DO NOT TAKE ANY CREDIT FOR THE BUILDING!! Also, it has no nightlighting, because I can't really figure out how to do those. It will be found in the "landmarks" folder. More like this will be coming soon! Please tell me if something is wrong with it.

4: It's missing dependencies.

5: Lot is bad.

In short, everything is wrong with it. Best option at this point is to put this download to rest, then open up a BATting thread and start again after getting advice.

1) "I DID NOT MAKE THIS!! I DO NOT TAKE ANY CREDIT FOR THE BUILDING!!" Uhhhhh, why are you uploading it then?!

2)
"I can't really figure out how to do those"

3) "
Can somebody please let me know if it worked? I'm really nervous." So, in other words - "I didn't even bother to take a couple minutes to test this myself"

So why submit this? Nothing about your post makes me think you put in any effort. Why should I take ten seconds to download it?

well ... on the positive side, the sun glare looks really cool (though surrounded by buildings without sun glare it would look very odd indeed).

Not going to bash or anything... just point some facts out...

1.- The building looks unique but lacks good modeling and textures, it can be refined by opening a BAT thread or learning a bit more of modeling.

2.- Unknown location of the original author.

3.- Really bad lot work.

4.- Better stats and desc.

5.- Controversy due to 1 and 2.

Wish you luck on your next BAT project.

I really want this building. But someone needs to make it the right way. Since I can't BAT to save my life, will someone else do it?

If you don't know how to do night lighting, there are plenty of tutorials like this to help you:

https://www.simtropolis.com/omnibus/_/simcity-4/batlot-editor-tutorials/nightlighting-in-gmax-for-objects-and-windows-r202

If you don't know how to BAT, there are tutorials like this for that too:

https://www.simtropolis.com/omnibus/_/simcity-4/batlot-editor-tutorials/bat-essentials-part-1-r11

Why don't you go through a few tutorials, and then try making a building of your own.  Before posting it on the STEX, post pictures of it in a new thread of your own here:

http://community.simtropolis.com/forum/12-sc4-bat-open-discussion/

and if there are any obvious problems, people can advise you on how to fix them.  That way, you can be sure that when you do post on the STEX, the building will be ready, and you won't have to be "really nervous."  I hope this helps in the future.

You got this model on Trimble 3D Warehouse right? You should make your own model. I know it is hard but if you like what you doing, you can learn faster. Reading, watching tutorials and ask people about 3D modelling. Go to forum and many kind people will help you there. I myself is a beginner on 3D Modelling too but I try the best I can to make my model look pleasable.

Making your own buildings is hard but easy once you get the hang of it.

As much as I love seeing someone put buildings from my city in SC4, it needs a lot fixed with it before it becomes something everyone could enjoy in game. Check out some tutorials and don't hesitate to ask other BAT'ers for help. I'm looking forward to being able to have the oversized USB stick Comcast Center in my game. Keep practicing!
