Bombardier Cityrunner Tram  1.1

About This File

Once again this is a very exciting release, since it's the first that includes a scripts component. Thanks to Felgard's discovery that script mods can be used in a separate package after all (note, most values still lead to rollbacks, but this one doesn't since it's only visual), we can now have a much more modern tram.

Another new feature showcased in this mod is that it comes in four different colors (similar to how most 'normal' cars in the game have varying colors).

NOTE: This download contains a scripts component. All .package files ending with 'Scripts' should be copied into the ...\Origin\SimCity\SimCityUserData\Packages\ folder instead of the SimCityData folder. Furthermore, be advised that this mod might not work with new updates from Maxis.

EDIT: I've been running into some odd issues with the script files (nothing potentially harmful to the game though) - they load or don't load depending on the city I'm viewing. I'll be looking into this.

Yes it seems to have broken (Like most of the other mods) in the 8.0 update

Is the tram color supposed to randomize at each station or only at the depot, it annoys me that the tram will change color in plain view. Other that that, great mod!

Yeah I would say this one needs to be updated. Tram gets really jumpy and jittery, mostly passing over intersections. This is probably my number one mod I use. I really don't like the model of the default Tram or the lightning speed at which it gets around.

Oppie I hope you read this and are able to fix this mod.

Thanks!

Hey great mod, still a problem

in a city of mine suddenly one tram starts driving very, very slow, seems like crawling.

because of that i get all the streetcars stuck behind the slow one,

when deleting the 2 mod files and returning to 'standard' streetcar,

there is no such problem of a slow streetcar

they drive normally

any help or advise available?

regards.

ID like to report the same problem when i use my mod pack, its always one of the trams starting to go very very slow and slowing down the rest. . . .

Awesome mod although I'm running into an issue with it -

The trams spawn okay but they move very very slow. They seem to be getting stuck behind each other and creating a long snail.

Any suggestions I can take to fix the issue, Thanks,

I for one would like to know when Oppie Updates this mod, for some reason the script files don't download with the American Red Cross pack from Origin.

I have downloaded this mod up to several different times and only ever worked once. They were all of random colors which looked awful, they were incredibly slow and would change colors dramically everytime they stopped at a station. They would create a huge multicoloured conga line because of the speed they go, and caused huge lag spikes. The model has see-through gaps near the roof and near the wheels if you look at it at the right angle. They would jitter and disconnect every time they went through a traffic light. Do not download this mod. This gets an official score of a very buggy 2/10.

Great mod, but it doesn't work for me. I only get two segments (twice the front of the new model). I thought this had something to do with the location of the files so I double checked but everything is in the right place.

Every other mod works great.

Maybe somebody else has this problem? Had this before before and after the latest patch.

This is due to the scripts component of the mod, which I've found is slightly unreliable. Especially on new cities, it tends to not load the scripts. I hope to be able to make a more reliable version soon.

I have had the same problem; NOT A SINGLE UPDATE SINCE MAY! I hope you fix this soon, I am not a happy bunny.

(PS: Week before easter, see the reference?)

You're looking in the wrong folder. In Origin, go to the settings screen and the folder your games are downloaded into should be visible in a greyed out box. Go to that folder and then follow the instructions in the readme.

Just wanted to let you know of a funny thing. not sure if someone else has told you about it, but when the trams stop at a streetcar stop, they change colors! This is probably because they spawn a new tram and probably just randomly picks from one of your models but cool nonetheless hahaha! Can post some pics if you want, but overall the trams amazing. It just looks much more cleaner in your city

Yeah, I noticed that they change color at the stops; it's because the game creates a completely new agent every time it picks up or drops off passengers. It's not very realistic, but it's funny, so I don't really mind. I could eventually do a version without the random colors if it bothers people too much.

And you never did...

I wish that color changing got fixed, it's what's holding me back from using this amazing mod. Please fix!
