About This File

This is a remake of the tall light towers we have here in Austin, called Moontowers. They were built in the 1890's to add soft light to poorly lit neighborhoods. I have created the tower on a police lot, and then altered the dimensions. The tower is a police building and function similar to the useless kiosk, its performance however is better than the kiosk. It has the same demand creation as the small police station. It has no jail cells, and no dispatch vehicles. It was designed to simply be a crime deterrent structure for wherever you place it in your city. I have tested it, and it works just fine. I am having trouble getting the plug in for BAT lights to install, so I don't have a shot of it at night. The lights from the fixtures, are visibly shining on the top parts of the tower, to give the impression that the tower is shining its light all around.

Your comment are welcome, so tell me what you think. This is my first upload of any kind to the exchange, and I have one more planned to go up either today or tom. so keep your eyes open for that.

Austin - as in Austin, Texas? I used to live around there. hehe Anyhoo - these look like something I could use for freeway lighting or something like that. Good job!

Aparently not very many people have seen dazed and confused. Come on people even if you don't live in Texas you should recognize this, its a part of pop culture!

Does this lot have to be connected to a road like police stations to properly function without errors in the game? Or can it be put back behind and in the middle of housing developments?

As a guy who spent his college years (mind you, not his college education) at A&M, I still gotta say - good job ;) better engineering than anyone at A&M could develop ;)

I live two blocks away from one, and except for the base, this is pretty accurate. The Moonlight towers were originally built in the 1880's and were gas powered. Now they're electric. A lot of cities used to have them, but Austin smart enough to keep them.

Wow! In the past 3.5 years since this was 1st posted there have only been 2 references to Dazed and Confused. The very 1st thought when i saw this was the part where they are all about to go to the moontower and Mathew Mc...whatever was talking to the cute redhead. "Why dont you ditch the geeks and come party with us.......but we will worry about that latter." I dont know about you guys but this brings back nothing but great memories for me. Thank you TGC.
