About This File

A model of the moon with accurate texture and diffuse maps.

Nice idea however. On the other hand: isn't it easier to make a background image with the moon on it? What should we do with the moon in our cities? It would be more appropriate to range it under "Disasters", wouldn't it?

If the model is as mrbisonm says then the picture is not at all representational and the description is lacking. A white ball?

People what may be hard for some maybe essay fore others, drgill55 maybe fore your next project make a house or something and upload that you will get a better response out of people if it is something they can use. You can also find a free copy of gmax on the net and the bat program from the SC4 site

@simfox, when I open this file, only a white ball appears in my 3dMax, no textures at all, unless my program is defective, it is NOT what's on the picture.

Yoshiisland is right you need to send the textures though as well, may be put the 3ds file and the textures into a zip file and upload that

The fact is that it is not a SimCity 4 file, not to mention even if it was what would you do with the moon in your city? This would be like if I loaded a poem on Microsoft Word onto the STEX. What would YOU think about a POEM on the Simtropolis Exchange? I think this file should be locked.

When you said "I rendered it with Sketchup" I hope you didn't mean like rendering into the game with sketchcup becuase that's impossible. There is a add on for sketchup that makes realistic photo renders for sketchup models, that photo looks like you used it. So that being said, if you can't understand Gmax and only use sketchup and want your models in the game, then PM me and I'll teach you the sketchup/gmax method.

And by the way, most ya'll here are making stupid, unfriendly, and flat out unessecary posts on this. simfox's 3 comments make alot of sense on this.

funny, although I clearly explained several times that this is a simple "untextured white Ball" for the 3D program and not directly for SC4 and nothing else, still some of you believe in what they see on the picture. @drgill55 , you really know how to draw attention......lol...Hats off!

I suppose I was a little harsh. Thanks to you guys for letting me know. I just get so fed up with the fact that out of the 15,000 STEX files, two thirds are hardly used. It just kind of clogs the system, you know? Sorry dgrill. It's not personal in the least. At least you didn't copy somebody's, give it a new name and re-post it! : ) (Yes, that's been done before)
