About This File

Annecy is the capital of the Haute-Savoie department in south-eastern France, situated near Geneva at the edge of the Western Alps. The town has 52,890 inhabitants and is located at the head of lake Annecy, one of the purest European lakes. Annecy is surrounded by some pre-alpine mountain ranges, the highest peak on this map is La Tournette at 2 351 m. There are also plenty of flat areas for easy city building. In general, this is a map very suitable for anyone, who wants to start his or her first attempts in developing a mountain map.

Compared to my other maps this map is quite handy with 6x6 large city tiles. The map was created using 1-arc-second DEM-data and 16-bit mapping technology, which makes it 100% height and scale accurate. Terrain height was modified a bit for the lake and the rivers.

OTHER REGIONS:

If you search for scale accurate high-alpine maps you are invited to download and comment my other maps, which are currently featuring parts of the Austrian, German and Swiss Alps. I also recommend you to look for the great alpine maps of the NHP mapping team.

CREDITS:

Credits go to NHP team and their excellent tools (SC4Mapper & SC4Terraformer). Special thanks to moganite for his useful RGB importer tool, its essential for me when I create my regions!

USER INSTRUCTIONS:

You have to own the SC4Mapper software developed by Wouanagaine.

1) Download and unzip the file

2) Run SC4Mapper and choose “Create Region”

3) Choose SC4M

4) Browse to the unzipped folder and point the map file .SC4M

5) Click on “Save Region” and give a name to it. You can now quit SC4Mapper.

6) Run the Game. Textures will appear as soon as you open the city tiles.

TERRAIN TEXTURE:

Any terrain texture will be appropriate for this map. In this region I chose a modified version of “Italia Terrain Mod”.

Comments and feedback are welcome! Have fun with my maps!
