About This File

This is theSixth MAPX team upload.
Thc current MAPX team is: spectrumtech, and spore415.

Map Name: Herbert’s Bay
Map Size: 4 by 4 large tiles (a total of 16 large tiles)
Characteristics: Herbert’s Bay is located on Marian Island in the middle of an Ocean. It has a dormant volcano on the right side of the map, along with a surrounding “mountain range”. In the Center is Herbert’s Bay, Named after the explorer who found the island (sadly, his crew pushed him off the boat with an anchor tied to his leg, and that is why the Bay is named for him, and not the entire island). On the left hand side is a large crater field in the top hand corner and a random mountain at the bottom corner.

Once again, DO NOT place an SC4Terraformer picture as your primary picture when uploading a map to the STEX. This type of picture should either be your secondary picture (typically showing your city borders) or be in your dowload package.

Spore- Vandy has gone out of his way to link to mapping programs including Region Census so new mappers such as yourself have all the tools you need to properly upload your maps. If you look in the Mapping Forums and spot this thread title "Mapping Applications and Tools" you'll find a linkie for Region Census. I would also suggest you don't upload any new maps until you provide an in-game screen shot for the ones already uploaded before you find yourself in a little bit of hot water.......

......as for the map itself, may I give you a few pointers? One, do a little smoothing on the sea floors as perfect circles is very unrealistic looking. Yes it takes time, but when you start getting more comments and dl's, it'll be worth it. Trust me, I know. I've been there and done that and have some admins give a stern word or two in my early days here.....other than that, your map looks great and I look forward to seeing what you offer next.

i never tohught of taking the underwater circles into consideration, as i have one of the mods where color does not chnage by depth, my water areas are all one color and depth has no effect. i will however try to take this into consideration for the future
