un1's Landfill Mod
UDProductions

*There is no virus!! The anti-virus program overreacted!!*

This is my second mod upload to the STEX.

***This is for Windows only!!!***

To download the Mac version click here.

This mod does two things:

1) Destroys the garbage 11.7x faster.
2) When you zone a landfill, it doesn't destroy the terrain as much.

To-install: Use the installer. The readme will pop-up at the end.
To-un-install: Use the un-installer located in the My Documents\SimCity 4\UDProductions\un1\un1's Landfill Mod. You will also find the read me here.

These files are installed:

The mod .dat: My Documents\SimCity 4\Plugins\un1's Uploads\un1's Landfill Mod.
The readme and un-installer: My Documents\SimCity 4\UDProductions\un1\un1's Landfill Mod.

Read the readme for more information**.
Visit these threads for even more information:
1 & 2

Please comment wisely.
Changelog:

1.0) Original Realese
1.1) Redo Of The Installer To Stop The Virus Alert

Enjoy,

Just to let you know, but if I click this link, I get this result for the file: not-a-virus:AdWare.Win32.EShoper.ba First time on STEX I get this. Am I the only one encountering this problem?

FlemishTuner: No you are not. Norton overreacts and sometimes causes this. PS: My computer doesn't have a virus I just checked.

i've been wondering what this does. =D 10/10. oh, FlemishTuner: The virus alert is triggered by the installer, but there is no virus packaged in here. Apparently this type of installer (Install Creator) seems to spawn the virus alert because it shows a semi-nag screen at the end of installation. It is claimed to spawn advertisements on the desktop. The package will be updated ASAP to use NSIS.

Thankyou simmaster07 for fixing the installer. (PS: I don't like my name in it)

too complicated to install, virus alert, otherwise not a bad idea, especially those with large landfills. my suggestion would be to find a simpler way of packaging this. i won't be d/l due to the alert

hmm. i hate the fact that the stex has no comment editing feature. anyways, if you read the description it says There is no virus -- Your antivirus program overreacted. If there were a virus, this file would be locked and deleted.

No virus (I'm using ESET smart security) and Norton is junk anyway. Regarding to the mod, I tested it and it seems to do what it's supposed to do. Good job.

Un1, mac users can use a program called "Filejuicer" to extract the files that we need out of the .exe, so a zip isn't always required. But it is nice. And by the way, good mod. I will defiantly be using this.

Ok, thanx to confirm this one, now I can download and use it safely :) BTW: it was Kaspersky that gave this message, but that's cleared now :)

for the record: several other items on the STEX may set off a virus alert if they used install creator to make the exe installer. those would most likely be false alarms. but if it doesn't use install creator and it uses something like NSIS for example, then you might want to check it out. thank you for your understanding. ;-)

there is no virus. if there was a virus the file would most likely be locked. now please stop saying there is a virus. if you're so concerned, get a moderator to look at it. they'll probably tell you it was a false alarm.

Does this Landfill mod change the original landfill to clean up faster, or does it add an additional landfill option that works faster, without removing the original?

Cougar2004: It edits all landfills. But I like your idea of adding a much better landfill, I will look into it.
