Another one for the ol' Irony file: Let's name a building after someone who opposed it! That's right. When this building originally was proposed, it was going to be built on the site of Portland's Pioneer Courthouse, the oldest federal courthouse in the western US. Naturally, this didn't sit well as a wave of preservationist fever was hitting POrtland in the 1970's. Ultimately, Portland's representative in the US House of Representatives, the late Edith Green, led efforts to de-fund the project in Washington.

So they moved the proposal for a federal building to a new lot near City Hall. No one quibbled about it, so it was done. But what to name it? Oh yeah, let's name it after Rep. Green and also let's honor Rep. Wendell Wyatt, who was retiring at the time. I don't know about you, but I sure feel flattered if someone names a bunch of modernist concrete after me!

Luckily, those of us who watch the architecture scene hear rumors that the building will be re-clad sometime soon. Please let this be true!

Installation Instructions:

unzip and run the installer program. Files will install to C:/...my documents/SimCity 4/Plugins/Sparkythepenguin/Federal Building/

(you may change the destination if you wish). You may then go through and remove undesired versions.

Stats:

Modelling and most modding: Sparkythepenguin

German-version beta testing and editing: Andreas_Roth

Spanish-version beta testing: Asturianu

Lot: 4x4 (all lots)

The growable lot should grow only as a stage 7 Houston lot.

English/German/Spanish multilingual support:

This BAT is fully tested, translated, and capable of running in English, Spanish, and German-language versions of SC4.

No need to worry about downloading extra stuff to get it to work in English, Spanish, or German, everything needed is in the lots included. Your version of SC4 will take care of the rest. (Lots will default to English for other languages). A French version may come in the future. That is whenever I can get a refresher course on it or find people willing to translate and beta test in French.
