Mt. McKinley Alaska (Denali)
By beskhu3epnm

Mount McKinley or Denali in Alaska is the highest mountain peak in North America, at a height of approximately 20,320 feet (6,194 m)[1]. It is the centerpiece of Denali National Park. The mountain is also known as Bolshaya Gora (??????? ????), meaning Big Mountain, in Russian. Mount McKinley has a larger bulk and rise than Mount Everest. Even though the summit of Everest is about 9,000 feet (2,700 m) higher as measured from sea level, its base sits on the Tibetan Plateau at about 17,000 feet (5,200 m), giving it a real vertical rise of little more than 12,000 feet (3,700 m). The base of Mount McKinley is roughly a 2,000 foot plateau, giving it an actual rise of 18,000 feet (5,500 m). This map encompasses most of the primary section of the mountain, as the size of the entire massif could encompass a map approximately 16x16 large tiles.

Now you get to try your hand at building near (and maybe even on) this monolith.

Map Size: 8x8 Large Tiles

The Columbus Terrain Textures were used when opening/saving the city tiles in game, but any terrain mod can used to do the same. For custom snow levels and rock angles, I have included a custom copy of the main file in the Columbus Textures. Simply replace the default file with the one included in the package.

The PEG Limestone Rock Mod was used when opening/saving the city tiles in game, but any rock mod can used to do the same.

You make really wonderfully detailed maps Beskhu3epnm. I'm curious though, is the mountain have the same elevation as the real one? Or is there a limit as to how high you can go? 10/10

The maximum elevation in SC4 is 6000m, and that's where the summit of Mt. McKinley had to be placed (despite being 6194m). The rest of the map was lowered 194m to keep it in scale. Glad everyone seems to enjoy this map!

Nice map, but i noticed in SC4 Deluxe one of the tiles does not import correctly, near the summit, and it gets clipped off at the corners. I fixed this behavior by lowering the overall height of the map by 400 or so, which also allowed me to see the terrain itself when the city was loaded.
