NHP Invermere Valley
By beskhu3epnm and JPlumbley

The Invermere Valley in British Columbia is located in Southeastern British Columbia Canada. It is also known as the Columbia River Valley, as the mighty Columbia River flows through this location. It is a very scenic location, with mountains towering 2000-2500m above the valley floor.

The valley is said to be protected by the towering Mount Nelson, over 25km away.

This map was created using the latest in mapping technology: 16 bit imaging. It is available in SC4M format.

When the map was originally created, the valley floor was difficult to manage with regards to building. The many creases and folds on the terrain made smooth building impossible. The map was subsequently turned over to Jplumbley, an SC4 Terraformer expert for modification.

The attributes I tried to implement into this map were.....
- Making this map playable for all players from, the beginner to the expert. There is alot of challenging terrain, aswell as flat opens space for growth and beginners. The terrain in the valley also varies alot allowing for growth of the player to learn and become better at dealing with terrain features.
- Also blending the terrain I created with the RL terrain Besk has been so kind as to provide for me.
- Some pre-flattened areas for 3-dimensional rivers for use with PEGs Pond and Stream Kits, or ploppable river with a little bit of extra terraforming.
- And most importantly ENDLESS opportunities and directions you can take your cities and regions.

The Columbus Olympic Terrain Mod was used when opening/saving the city tiles in game, but any terrain mod can used to do the same. For custom snow levels and rock angles, I have included a custom copy of the main file in the Columbus Textures. Simply replace the default file with the one included in the package. Credits to Cycledogg for permission to use these!
