About This File

This region is my home town Innisfail the region is 36x34 km.

Trivia

The site of the recent Cyclone Cyclone Larry in feb  2006.  Ths area has a number of features that would mitigate the impact of any cyclone/hurricane namely the barrier  hills and the swamp directly behing the hills and the signifigant mountains further inland. comparing this to New Orleans  USA you can see the difference. The mountain in the map is mount Bartle Frere and stands at 1622 m it is the tallest mountain in Quensland.

This area grows 95 percent of the national bannana crop as well as a variety of other tropical fruits and has a largish sugar industry. There is also a push for tourism here and the great barrier reef is just off this map.

Plugins

You can use either mallows plugins or my own erosion control set that has been recently updated at the time of uploading this. THe relevant files for topographic sacle are NE2000m.dat, QE2000m.dat, 2E2000m.dat and 2000m.dat.

This map was rendered using Pegasus weathered sandstone rock mod though a bassalt texture is more appropiate.

Instructions

1) Download the config.bmp and greyscale image Innisfailfinal.jpeg from simtropolis.com

2) (optional)If you have a graphic program open the greyscale region in your progof choice remove jpeg artifact and convert to BMP, Save in a convient location I pick the SimCity root directory in c:\documentsandsettingsusername\mydocuments/SimCity/greysacleimages C:\ is the drive your docs are on

3) put the 2000m plugin from mallows heghtmod pluginsor the erosion control set and only this plugin for heights in the pluging folder. Ground texturepacks etc should be ok as long as they don't alter the height scale

4) Start SimCity 4 use ALT+SHIFT+CTRL+R you will get a dialog box.

5) Browse for your files in c:\....documentsand settingsusername\mydocuments/SimCity where c:\ is the drive your docs are stored on click OK

6) The game will then render the image this will take some time depending on your system as a guide it will take 15 mins on a AMD 2700 with radeon9600 1 gig RAM if your machine is slower it will take proportionally longer to render. It may take longer if you have other programs active.

7) when its finished Rendering ENJOY

Thank you for the kinds comment helomoto but the data to make this map was DEM data from a shuttle mission in 2000. I made the coast template from sattelite images andthe SC4 engine with the new version of my plugins did the rest. It just takes abit of time and isnt terribly hard.
